    Question about Iron Golem dmg

    How the weapon quality(normal, exceptional or elite) influence the Iron Golem dmg?Or is just the ED mod from the weapon that aplies to IG dmg(12-33 for hell, info from diablowiki) or ED is one of these mods that don't works with IG?So many questions is to start stocking some insights rw for NL and want to know what are the best options.

    Any weapon damage is added to Iron Golem damage, so an Iron Golem made from an Elite polearm will normally do more damage than one made from an Exceptional polearm, and both will normally do more damage than one made from a Normal polearm. Any Enhanced Damage on the weapon only applies to weapon damage, while any +% Damage from auras like Might and Fanaticism applies to the sum of weapon damage and IG damage.

    Thanks for the info, will be only elite polearms then and most non ethereal because I still need some for my play characters.

    The best option here is eth base because it looks cool, so pick all 4s eth polearms and make insights in them.

    IG isnt for damage, even with 20 hard points in fire golem it is just as good as one of your skeletons.

    Anyone ever try to max out damage returned to enemy?

    I was thinking a lvl 40 IG (+1400%) made from Spike Thorn, lvl 40 Iron Maiden (1175%), lvl 15 Thorns from Bramble (+810%), and lvl 13 Spirit of Barbs (+290%).

    That would give you: +3675% and +136 damage returned. Think that would due noticeable damage to attackers?

    Stack bramble with edge for higher thorns aura ( or thorns merc )

    Level 40 Iron Golem only applies 735% damage returned, to itself (although +1,400 defence is also applied). However, due to a bug this is always overwritten by any level Thorns aura, so a level 40 Iron Golem with Level 15 Thorns Aura When Equipped will only apply the level 15 Thorns aura's 810% damage returned.

    With damage returned from other sources, it is normally better to cast Amplify Damage than Iron Maiden. It would always be better to cast AD than level 40 IM with 1,175% or more damage returned from other sources. Even with 810% damage returned from level 15 Thorns alone, it would be better to cast AD on targets with Damage Resist 32% or more (810 * (100-(32-100) ) /100 = 1,360.8; (810+1175) * (100-32)/100 = 1,349.8). Combine Bramble armour with an Edge bow for Level (30-36) Thorns Aura When Equipped and (1,410-1,650)% damage returned, and it's always better to cast AD than level 40 IM.

    The Spirit of Barbs skill descriptions may display 30+(20*slvl)% damage returned, but only 40+(10*slvl)% is actually applied: this means level 13 Spirit of Barbs actually applies just 170%, not 290%.

    I keep seeing that the last post in this thread was supposedly Clervis' post. Onderduiker's is some sort of magical stealth post that one must actually go to the thread to detect. Weird.
