I use to play d2 ages ago and was pretty decent,

just curious as to which is better for magic finding (with rubbish kit) ?

orb soso / blizz / fire / light etc?

All works. But maybe Light needs better gear to work.

Orb/Blizz/FireBall works well.

Depends on what you want. First you want something like +70%-80% faster cast to teleport around without too much fear of dying. stealth runeword body armor has 25, spirit runeword crystal sword has 25-35, so thats 50. Get another 20 from either rings, ammys, of magefist. Find a white crystal sword in nm or hell and use the larzuk socket quest to give it 4 sockets. runes are really basic. Farming hell baal is best with a lightning sorc but its expensive. You can farm hell meph cheap using the moat trick with either meteor, blizz, firewall, or hydra. Pindle is easy enuf to farm with orb. Andy is hurt most by fire id use meteor or hydra on her. Also get either woestave or kelpie snare on the a2 merc because it slows act bosses a ton. Just feed them rejuvs and they will be happy.

You can break immunes with a wand of lower resist and sufficient +skills. I know for a fact this is possible because i was doing it just last night on ladder in a group and we were talking about it. I would look at the mob, it would say cold immune, id cast LR and that phrase disappeared.

My primary sorc has the option of putting on switch a spellsteal axe with charges of decrepify and a wand a lower resist. I go with the wand to break immunities.
