And indeed, this sound is the best I've hear sofar, I think we have a winner (I didn't consider woodpeckers, because I thought they pecked a lot slower than this sound)

So, just to try it out, I'll bring a gun to the woods next time, if you don't hear from me within a week, it was a predator... ,else, a woodpecker ^^

I remembered having this audio file from the above video of predator, which was titled snarl-roar-laugh, so I when I recognized this sound, it just got labeled snarl in my head...

By the way, if anybody wonders, I haven't been back to the woods yet ;-)

That woodpecker sound was not at all what i was imagining either. That sound isn't scary.

but look on the bright side, nothings hunting you.

At least not anything that makes a lot of noise.....

If you've never heard this noise, and the only reference you have is having watched predator, it is a little weird, eventough common sense tells me predators don't exist, some adrenaline gland said it did ^^

Trivia: the guy who designed the Predator said he was inspired by a dying crab on the beach that made the clicking noises. Of course, there aren't any crabs in the woods

That's all well and good, but the video didn't really answer the most important question: how do they taste with drawn melted butter?

I'm not kidding. If they're good eating, that's one hell of a better "ranch" animal than Alaskan King Crab. That ought to be the angle conservationists take...
