So Obama and Chuck Hagel are using that sneaky liberal interpretation of the Pay Our Military Act.

Your pathetic attempts to blame Democrats are not working .

    Next plan is ....

Poll: Americans not happy about shutdown; more blame GOP

The shutdown will not last .

You will fold soon like the cheep cardboard you all are.

    Cheep cheep?

Sure blaming the Socialists works, since they're thoroughly worthy of blame - and Obama's getting spattered by the mud as well. Are you just ignoring the obvious fact from the articles I provided? (That the reason there's a need for CR's is that Reid hasn't done his job for over 1600 days, and that Obama hasn't done his job by resolving this basic failure)

What remains to be seen is how pyrrhic the victory for the GOP will be. Obama's attempts to make this hurt the American people is an impeachable offence, and though certainly nothing will be done about this, the "optics" of turning away crippled veterans from war memorials that cost more to close than to keep open doesn't make His Lightworker-ness look particularly bright.

I'm a bit late because of a vacation, but anyway:

Reid and Obama can't afford to discuss a budget, because they've made America the brokest nation in history. Do yourself a favour and research what "Continuing Resolution" is prior to slurping down Socialist talking points.
The congress should do what's the job of the congress. The budget is their matter, Obamacare isn't. If the budget makes the US a broke nation, then do something about the budget. If it's not the budget which makes the US broke, then get a majority in the places of the state and the government which is responsible for it.

I take it you're so European that you can't see the Founders' wisdom in action. They didn't WANT politicians to get "important or crucial things done", because given their experience with European governments they generally viewed politicians as marauding packs of liars and thieves.
I think there is a fundamental difference between the people's will to get things done to their benefit and what politicians actually do and why they care doing it in a certain way. There's obviously a conflict between these two things and the goal of any constitution should be to make politicians commit their mean deeds in a way that it benefits the people the most. Churchill brought it to the point: Democracy is the worst government form, except all others. If you think that so many people are dumbasses, then here's a cite from Adenauer: We have to get along with the people as they are, there are no better ones available.

Go right ahead. You're lying. The Democrats have pulled this stunt far more often, and in reality it's part of the design of the tripartite U.S. Gov't.
I don't get you here. Ecacttly what is my lie? I didn't deny that the Democrats did the same before. I said that pulling this stunt is morally treason, no matter if commited by the Democrats or the Republicans. I don't care who did it more often. If you think the US better waits with demanding to stop that behaviour until the Democrats are doing it again, then wait. Just don't get broke until then.

It's only naive at a glance. Keeping things simple (but not too simple) is an excellent strategy in this case.

It seems we disagree who is the scumbag and to which extent they are acting like that. You even seem to believe that the strategy of extortion on topics out of their authority is acceptable if a goal of your liking is pursued. That won't go well for long, respectively, it rarely did in the past. A third of the people of the US seem to think differently and approves of the behaviour of the GOP while half of them doesn't (assuming we believe in these statistics), but well, if it's about the approval of that third, they are doing it right.

Actually Obamacare is also part of their job. The fact that we haven't had a budget in so long is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to whether or not congress is doing its job, let alone doing it well. Congress creates, changes and (supposedly) eliminates laws. Their responsibilities go well beyond simply being the president's professional accounting book chefs.

If congress didn't have a hand in legislation, what we'd have is a democratic monarchy. We kind of do anyway now, but at least we still have a thin scrap of pretense of being a republic.

Here another piece of news for you.

The Republican Party could be in danger of losing control of the House in 2014, new polls on Sunday show.

Obama has now also shutdown the AMBER alert website. Apparently political stunts are more important to him than missing kids.

No, it isn't. You confuse having the power to force others to do certain things with the legal means given to them. It's a bit like confusing the right to bear arms with the right to hold them at the head of others.

The fact that we haven't had a budget in so long
I'm confused. Exactly when do the US have a budget and when don't they have one?

but at least we still have a thin scrap of pretense of being a republic.
Most republics aren't more than that anyway, so who's naive here?

But yes, I mixed up the terms democracy and republic a couple of times while you didn't .
