Hardcore MP for new player

I just started to play Hardcore few days ago (after playing a lot of SC) and what is optimum Monster Power for untwinked characters? I'm playing on MP5 and some mobs have a lot of hp which results in longer times to kill them. Should I decrease MP just to be safe?

I've had the same mentality as you when I first started HC. I lost one lvl 40ish character in MP5 then decided it wasn't worth it.

MP0 might feel easy at times but it is also safer and faster. You end goal is to hit 60 so you can start farming gold, xp, and items.
