2-Handed Weapon + Off-Hand Shield [MONK] - possible??

Well guys, I'm confused. In Demon Hunter for example, you can use a 2hand-bow and an off-hand item. But with monk, when I put a 2hand-weapon I cant put shield too, even if he is off-hand. Logically it should be possible.

Only if you follow the logic of the Demon Hunter. Logically the Demon Hunter shouldn't be able to use the off hand. Because logically you wouldn't be able to use a 2 handed weapon while holding a shield
