but I don't remember where it was, does anyone know it? (I mean something like "if the waypoint is here then the next level is whatever direction")
Ive always gone left after the wp.. It seems its more often that way. Maybe 70% of the time or so.
It is reported to be somewhere clockwise most of time.
you can actually figure it out from wp position where is lvl3... i have made thousands mephi runs and have learned it but im too lazy to start write a guide![]()
You want Zath's Map Layouts. http://www.theamazonbasin.com/d2/for...howtopic=36294 Most maps wind clockwise or counter-cc.
I have not recorded real statistics, but it seems clockwise run is better in about 6:4 cases.
The most frustrating layouts are those with down stairway hiding in the middle of the level.
They occur about once in 20-50 cases.
Yes you should go clockwise every time in durance 2. Taken from Zath's post:
Durance of Hate Level 2
1): Entrance (Durance 1)
2): Waypoint
3): Exit (Durance 3)
4): N/A
Numbers 1-4 represent points on a diamond:
....1
4.......2
....3
1 Is at the top, 2 is on your right, 3 is at the bottom, and 4 is to your left.
Clockwise means to run through the sequence as shown in the diamond by going 1, 2, 3 and then 4. Counter-clockwise means to go 4, 3, 2, and then 1.
If we warp to durance 2, and assign the spot we are standing to point 2 on the diamond, and point 3 is always the exit, we know we need to always go clockwise. This doesn't always work, as you said, because sometimes the map will get drawn in an odd way and a section of it will loop around another area. But always going clockwise is the most efficient without maphack.
