Eu ladder eth palashield 43 res

Hi... i found one eth kurast shield, +43 res and i'm about to socket it with larzuk to get 4 sckets.

It's not a vortex, but i think it should be a really really good option for exile, so it should be high valuable, advice?

    NOOOOOO!! WAIT!!

If u socket an eth shield with larzuk it wont get the sick defense its so attractive for! If its not cubed, its probably only worth a few ists. If its tradeable.

Let me put it like this:

A max rolled Kurast shield has 172 defense.
If its ethereal, then its 172x 1,5. Rounded up.

    Thats 258 def.

If you use the Larzuk socketing on it, 258def is the best def it will have.
If you use the cube recipe (Tal+Amn+PerfRuby) however, the defense will roll anew.

    258x 1,5. Rounded up.
    Which is 387 def!

It will have a 3/6 chance to get 4 sockets, and 1/6 to get 1-3 sockets. Respectively.
If it get less the 4 sockets, its useless. But if you get 4 sockets in it, it will be worth at least 2 hrs. Depending on defense.

The def can range from 347-387.

    Good luck.

Uhmmm... I know about the socketing bug, but do you really think def is so important?

Supposing a medium exile (+240% ed), a "normal" eth would have 877 def, a bugged one 1247.
Of course it's a lot, but with holy shield and defiance i don't think it would be so different... I won't pay 2 hrs for a 1247 and 2 ists for a 877 one.

Still, looking at this (old, i know) guide
    http://diablo.incgamers.com/forums/s...Guide-Season-9
Eth Vortex Shield (4soc) 40+ res all = HRs

Ok it's not a vortex, but...

Last question... why 3/6 to get 4 sockets? I thought all numbers had the same probability.

Thank you very much for helping!!

The difference in the end will be about 5000def +

Its 1/6 chance for every number of sockets. Since the max number in THAT item is 4, if it rolls 5 or 6 it will get 4 sockets.
