Zaph - I think it only does that if there isn't another ED mod on it. SotG didn't have 348 ED, for example.
A 15% ED base needs a +396 roll to beat a +400 roll in a regular base:

On topic: Hopefully i'm wrong but it feels like i'm using my MFO luck already. Found both spirit keeper and ravenlore within 10 runs of eachother. Luckily that rare sacred armor wasn't a golden one.
I got an ethereal Ravenlore (I think, one of the rare pelts) and I was like 'Woohooooooooo, a useless item is now even more useless!'
