Hey everyone so I just got D2 two days ago, and decided to make my first character a hardcore paladin on open battlenet and playing classic. I just had 2 questions.
1. Does the game kind of stutter or feel choppy once in a while , I didn't really notice it in act 1 but it mainly happens for me in windowed mode and I noticed it a lot more in act 2. I'm also using a glide wrapper but i'm not sure if i'm just being too picky with the performance or if its just something that happens. btw, I'm on windows vista 32 bit.
2. What's the difference between LOD and Classic in terms of content and just overall gameplay.
Thanks![]()
1. Are you playing SP or on b.net? If it is on b.net could it be lag that is causing this? Not sure as I went from XP to Win7.
2. In LoD you get 2 new classes, Druid, spell caster with minions and the Assassin a melee class with traps, extra uniques and sets. You get the items that can only be equipped by each class, shrunken heads (shields for the Necro), Orbs for the Sorceress, Paladin shields, Barbarian Helms and the like. LoD also adds runes and runewords to the game, most of which are very useful and some considered crucial if you play LoD. LoD adds an entire Act with six extra quests, you visit the Northern Barbarian home land and must defeat Baal. These are just some of the features I'm sure others will add to the ones I've missed.
Thanks for the reply & I'm playing b.net but I've also played SP and they're both the same. It might be because I have a big monitor atm but i'll try switching too a smaller one to see if there is a difference, because I have low ping and high fps so I doubt that its the lag. Also how does it work on Win7 because I have a laptop that has Win7 so I might try installing it on that and seeing how the game plays ^_^, But do you not get any small stutters at all?

I play on Windows 7, and don't experience any performance issues.

Have that stuttering with D3, in D2 only if I'm downloading in the background. Only heard bad things (in general) about Windows Vista also don't know what your PC specs are.
U might want to take a peek at this:

I know its D3 related but might have same issue in D2. In short, most of the stuttering is caused by processor accesing your harddrive instead of RAM. Adding RAM might help, making a Ramdrive might help if u got the RAM.
edit: was also some debate about windowed mode in the post so try fullscreen
