Here's why Hellfire rings suck...and how to fix them

D3 items suck...You even straight up acknowledge it. And then back peddle and try to insult me. As if me typing on my little cell phone and causing a few typos matters?

The point remains. D3 has piss poor itemization. This is a PROVEN FACT fan boy.

There is no backpedalling, only me laughing maniacally at the notion that Diablo (any number) has ever had a diverse array of viable items and you flailing just as furtively in a desperate attempt to block out the notion that D2 was not in fact God's gift to gaming!

As a matter of fact because there where so many different, useful items and builds it was easy to take any meta game/cookie cutter builds and molest them at will.

Wait, you currently have the goal posts on 1.09, correct? So you can kill 100 HP builds. Would you like a cookie?

Now you're reminding me of that guy who had an early beta video of himself literally facerolling the keyboard to beat the Skeleton King. That's your ideal game, it seems.

How many high runes (vex and above) did you personally find on the way to 99, without a bot?

How many godly items did you find personally in D2?

Did you ever hit 99 without a bot?

I can say I found 1 vex rune in all of the time I played D2.

The game has not been out very long. If you are comparing what you remember finding over 10 years in D2 compared to what you have found in the 7 months of Diablo3.

Also, that hellfire ring would be godly on hardcore for a barb. Your other ring, also godly. I have found maybe 1 ring out of 300+ hours played in inferno that might be 75% as good as that rare.

I can say that I found maybe... MAYBE 10 godly items in D2 over 10 years. In D3, I found about 70-90 million worth of items on my most recent monk (90 hours played before death). While that may seem like an small amount of gold, it is the building stone of hopefully moving on past MP0 on my next monk.

I hit 99 with my tri elemental sorc (meteor/frozen orb/thunderstorm) and my hybridzon (lightning fury/multishot/guided) without using any sort of bot aid.
Also had a barb, necro, pala, druid all at 96-97
Don't remember the lvl of my assa but she was 90+ too.

I did find atleast one of: vex, jah, ber, lo and sur. Don't remember if i found a cham. The only high rune i'm sure i didn't find was zod.

And there was another thing I randomly thought about during a run. People say Legendaries suck and that rares are surpassing them right? They still complain about getting too many rares and not enough Legendaries though. Seems odd...

Reminds me of something actually.

I had a D2 mod a while back and one of the things I did was make it so that important mods on items were non variable. So while things like enhanced defense still had a range, stuff like +skills/sockets/+all attributes... anything where a low result ruins the item, that all went away and instead they always had the maximum values.

And people HATED this. These same people that would complain about 1 socket CoAs complained even more when those or similar became an impossibility.

I take that to mean most people have no idea what they want. But it has nothing to do with the example you quoted, as that's an example of finding something that should be valuable but isn't, due to all the duping rendering farming pointless.
