2013: The Year of the Shocker

Here's a conversation I had with the game recently:

Me: So game, you got a minute? There's something I need to ask you.

Me: See, I've kind of busted my balls to get some nice runes together and I really want you to cooperate with me on the roll.
Game:
Me: I really don't want to run Countess anymore, and it was hell getting that Ohm, so do you think you could be a pal and not screw me over on this CoA roll? I think we both know you owe me for that Io drop on Hell Hellforge.
Game:
Me: Ok, so I'm going to socket this Ohm. Please for the love of Jeebus just don't give me a +1 BO. Kay? <sockets>

2700 runs or so and still no sign of Mara's. Ah, the joys of grinding Mephy! Interestingly enough, Mara's has been one of the first things that usually drops for me when running Mephisto. Not so much this time. I'm expecting to have to go the full 4k or even more, as I think I used up most of my good luck on that Zod.

Got kind of bored and decided to take on the Ancients using only my magic finding gear (no stormshield). I had decided that I wouldn't reroll them no matter how nasty the mods were. Got a cursed Fanaticism combo that flattened my merc in a matter of seconds. One of them could also teleport and was a mana burner as well, which made the fight interesting. Obviously going toe to toe was not a good idea, so I let my Poison Javelin do the heavy lifting while I LF'd from a distance whenever possible. As soon as the Fanaticized one went down, the outcome was pretty much decided. Life never dropped below half, but there were some tense moments when I needed to reactivate Battle Orders.

Gotta love Plague Javelin. I rarely use it, but when I do it always seems to get me out of a jam.

So that's done. Now I have access to cows, which is really the only place a javazon can out-perform the other classes. The only problem is that I can't get great items from cows. I'd like to keep at Mephisto until I get a Mara's, but I'm definitely mixing in other things as well, as too much Mephisto makes me start to feel a little crazy. Any suggestions for a modestly equipped Javazon in HC who needs (safe) stuff to do?

I guess you are referring to ATMA bugging the item. I'm trying to keep this character as "pure" as possible, meaning no outside programs or mods to assist with the game. Wouldn't it be nice though...
