Hellfire ring attack stats/mechanics

I finally got a Hellfire ring yesterday (around P40).

Having played around with it, I now have a few questions—does anyone here know . . .
(1) The base likelihood of the fireball procing?
(2) How it calculates damage?
(3) Does it deal damage to the monsters it passes through, or just when it explodes?
(4) Does it proc LOH/life steal?
