The sad part is that I actually wasn't completely sure that was a joke post from looking at it.

There's page long threads on the official forums asking for PvP, saying they'd be willing to pay a monthly subscription just to be allowed to PvP in a game they paid for.

I don't really care at all if I ever play PvP, but I'm exited that it will bring some fresh life into the game.

I don't expect it this year though.

This caught me thinking, couldn't HC duels or even HC championships become a big thing?

1. Incentive to make a new character, which adds replayability
2. The awesomeness of winning a HC duel while streaming live
3. The thrill of watching live HC duels

Of course, Blizz would have to build more structure around it supporting a whole championship format, streaming, rewards for the winner (the entry fee collected by all participants could be the prize).

One can dream, right?

My guess is around Feb 2013.

It will need 6 weeks on the PTR and the BLog isn't even started yet. So the earliest in mid Feb.

That time is still one month before SC2, the hardcore PvP game and so D3's unofficial PvP could be a welcome warming up in Feb 2013.

Definitely 2013 since a blue today just announced how 1.07 is going to be a major patch that they're still working on
