Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction
Diablo 3
Well, as someone in the same line of work, I will gladly discuss it with you. Do you truly work, or have worked, with children with autism? "Autistic children" is in fact already offensive enough, since autism is something you have, not an identity.
I think you really need to brush up on your knowledge about the disorder, if you only consolidate all the different symptoms into "loving repetitive things" and "needing a lot of routine". It's clear to me that Suggestive has a much better grasp on what the disorder really means.
Not to mention the incredibly offensive remark that started this discussion...

When people tell me "plz" just because it's shorter than 'please', I feel perfectly justified to answer 'No' because it's shorter than 'Yes'.
And the Lord said unto Carl: 'Come forth and receive eternal life'. But Carl came fifth and won a toaster.
No, because if I wanted to play **** those losers I'm out for me and me alone I am already forced to do far more of that than I like in the real world. It is not why I play video games.
Playing the game of my items are godly, yours are worthless WUG WUG WUG wasn't appealing when I was younger and more interested in substituting penis waving for an actual exchange of dialogue and it isn't appealing now.
All those few in favor of the antiquated bartering system do in every thread they materialize in is illustrate in detail why bartering is always replaced with an actual currency at some point... including in D2.
If people really liked trading that much they wouldn't have switched to buying items with pgems/sojs/hrs... which is functionally identical to buying with gold, except that those currencies existed because the intended currency of gold did not function in D2.
Actions speak louder than words.
Likewise, JSP wouldn't exist, as half of its purpose? Yup, providing a currency. One that transcends ladder seasons (the other half of the reason it exists).
Introducing currency is not the problem. The problem is that trading in D3 is implemented in the most boring and unimaginative way possible. They simply copied AH from WoW, without any thinking about it. Trading is not only about efficiency. Ask your girlfriend who goes with you to a mall shopping, does she want to swiftly get the BEST clothes and leave fast. This is not the case most of the time.
Actually, she does. But that's beside the point. Yes, you can make it all about inefficiency, but you must first ask yourself why and second ask yourself how the hell can you sit here and say "I R UBER POWERGAMERS HURR DURR" if you then turn around and waste a ton of time on trading instead of getting your gear and getting back to whatever it is you were going to do with that gear?
Did I ever say that? And I recall blizzard saying d3 was not aimed at e-sport environment at all."I R UBER POWERGAMERS HURR DURR"
Yes, my girlfriend does want to get the hell out of there as fast as possible. The point of shopping is to obtain things, not lollygag around wasting your time in the hopes of getting what you want. That's why Amazon is in the closing stages of completely destroying brick and mortar -- no one wants to hang out in crowds or walk through aisles when you can just get what you want by clicking and have it come right to your door. I don't use the AH, but calling it boring and unimaginative is calling a subway system boring and unimaginative because it goes to the most important places within a city -- the places you would expect it to go.
Anyway, if your criticism is that you're bummed about D3 because you liked the game-within-the-game of trading/fleecing others, fine. But that's clearly not an actual aspect of the game -- the original trading construct was solely because Blizzard lacked the technological tools at the time to put one in, hence user-to-user trades with no official facilitation. The game is about killing demons to find items to kill demons to find items -- an AH is weirdly skew to that goal, but it at least makes the "find items" part painless for those that want it. To argue that you think the AH is lame because it's "boring, unimaginative" or "simplistic" is like saying that you prefer going to Best Buy rather than buying stuff on Amazon because getting exactly what you want quickly detracts from your enjoyment of life. I don't know anyone that prefers to waste their time looking for something to help them enjoy life over actually enjoying life with that service or product.
What do I actually want? I want items with a story - and best buy (wouldn't go there at any time they have terrible customer support) can tell me at least more than internet can.is like saying that you prefer going to Best Buy rather than buying stuff on Amazon because getting exactly what you want quickly detracts from your enjoyment of life.
The main reason I hate this game, I would say almost all item drops being vendor trash, especially the set/legendary items that have ludicrously ridiculous infinitesimal drop rates. I miss the loot pinatas of D2 where named boss kills with lots of MF yielded several greens and golds on the ground at once. Seeing 2 useless Isenhart Breast Plates along with other not worth picking up green/gold items is just more fun than only getting a single green/gold once every blue moon, especially when, odds are, the drop is going to be vendor/AH/salvage trash.
Uhm, what is it I don't know? I know plenty of autism, as I'm studying my master in psychology. Sorry dude. But if you think that autistic children doesn't need routine and doesn't feel secure when doing repetitive behavior. Then is our discussion over.
And there is a difference between compulsion and repetitive behavior.
