Right, because it's crazy to think that when you're spending way too much money, the solution is to not spend so much. Obviously we must spend even more. It's crazy to think that if the government is so big and obstructive and inefficient that it's causing problems that the solution is to shrink it and make it more efficient. We should make it even bigger and more mismanaged than ever. And of course, it's absolutely bat-**** insane to think people deserve to keep the money that they earn so it can be used to create more jobs and grow the economy. We HAVE to take it away and give it to companies that are not even remotely feasible and that go bankrupt soon after, as well as people who do jack **** all day long so they can buy more oreo cookies.Originally Posted by Nazdakka

Some of them really would be too. "Rich" is not synonymous with "Greedy, self serving bastard". It's ones personality and beliefs that make a person who they are. Not how much money they have.

It's not greedy to own a yacht that costs as much as modest housing sufficient for five families. And a car for the cost of another two family homes. And a home that costs as much as another five modest family homes. Oh, and a second home.
That's not greed, that's simply reaping the rewards of your own efforts. And of course, finding ways of paying tax at a fraction of the rate the average man in the street pays, to help fund all these just rewards for your efforts ... none of this is greedy.
Those greedy, non-rich, self-serving bastards, though - they really are greedy. They have the yacht, the expensive car, the expensive home AND the second home, but they are just so greedy about it. Totally different.
Actually, yes. On the one side, you have someone who started a business, invested, saved, marketed, hired, expanded, etc. etc. and now likes to enjoy some luxuries as a reward for his efforts. This man is perfectly willing to pay taxes, he just doesn't want to get shafted by them.
On the other side, you have someone who's greatest accomplishment was crushing six beer cans in a row with his forehead and only ever expanded the size of his backside. This man demands the other man have his wealth taken away and redistributed to him and all the other forehead crusher *** expanders out there.
There are, of course, other scenarios out there as, once again, the amount of money you have doesn't define what kind of person you are, but I think I've made my point.

I only hope the Republicans in congress are in better shape than you, but even if we fall off the fiscal cliff we will survive, Though it would have been better for us all if both sides had not been such A-holes and had done the work last year to keep the triple A rating.

Well, to the tea baggers / angry white men, thanks for the White House, the Senate (gained seats instead of losing them as predicted), and for a Senate seat here that would easily still be in GOP hands. Also lost a few iconic crack-pots, but I'm sure they'll have new jobs on Fox before week's end.
The only question left is: Do they grow up now, or continue to stay out of power. I wish for growing up, but am betting on not.
I am looking forward to their 4-6 months in the bomb shelter going through the 5-step grief process though.

See, you just proved it - Socialism relies on the politics of envy. Compare Romney's wealth with Harry Reid's or John Kerry's. Romney earned it, Reid stole it, Kerry married it. But Romney's the bad guy in the Socialist lexicon.
I particularly loved how Jay-Z is worth substantially more than Romney, but nobody uttered a feckin' peep as Obama repeatedly sucked him off. But hey, they're LEFTIES, nothing to see here:

This is the end of even the theoretical concept of the two party system, as evidenced by Slimy Harry hypocritically doing away with the filibuster. They only needed it as long as they couldn't guarantee a future majority. Now they can and will.
Only one side (the GOP) was even trying to do their jobs, which is being accountable to the populace. The Democrat Senate hasn't passed a budget in three and a half years, doesn't plan on doing so in the future, intends to raise the debt limit forever, and Obama won't follow the law and present the regulations he's going to inflict on the populace. Yet the TEA party is labeled the nutbag constituency by the fascists? As for bipartisanship, Obama and Reid want Boner to agree to feck the "rich" (AKA GOP-only "rich", AKA small business owners) simply so they can point the finger and escape blame. It is indeed past the point in Atlas Shrugged where the looters are simply getting what they can before the collapse.
