Also mafia - why flubb? Were you betting he hid a power role?

Essentially it came down to necessity, if we were going to set up the PGO scenario, we had to kill someone that was an unconfirmed vanilla, and it had to be someone that claimed after the actual role claimed to make it more likely. Based on flubb's usual play style we believed we could spin it to be that flubb picked the pgo and just didn't claim it. It set up the cover for me and phar to ride to the end as long as I wasn't lynched. In hindsight this seems like a very complicated and convoluted plan, but it worked for a while. I really regret not claiming earlier, but my real life just didn't allow it, it was very unfortunate.

This boggled me too. Mafia were given PERFECT fake claim opportunities since so many townies were guilty of scummy looking claims (I chose what the person above me chose...I'm VT). We didn't capitalize.

Yep, I failed on getting a good claim in, sorry to the rest of our little group, may have turned out different.

I really, really liked the turnaround on normal town/mafia - normally mafia are the cast of bad guys. The blurbs with vote counts were very fun. Stories were great as well. Great theme, well executed.

The survivors are the good guys dang it! Why didn't the zombies just eat each other and call it a day?

How about this scenario: Should Pyro day vig me on D1? You've talked about Pyro killing Ankeli a couple times but I don't think you once talked about how he should kill me. Why? Because I would have flipped watcher to everyone. This puts Ankeli at risk simply because I was watcher. This causes Pyro to be unable to claim doc, jailkeeper, tracker, or roleblocker simple because I was watcher (we had very strong indication those roles were free for fake claiming after N1).

Allowing Pyro to lie about my role gives mafia options. Options which don't exist in the presence of mod confirmed info.

What if Pyro day killed Gwaihir and claimed Gwaihir was an anti-town PGO? The wording of the PGO says it only works on night actions, not day actions. I daresay Pyro's claim would have been believed by some. That option was not available due to the mod confirmed info.

All of this above just goes to show how much I don't think most of this through, I didn't think of any of the scenarios you listed above in full on depth.

You were probably a poor choice for a night kill, but when he submitted it so early in the night I got a little happier to see that you went down .

I said that as a LAMIST statement. I wanted to say it in advance - like a townie who just realized how bad things will go the following day if he insisted on the wrong person (Mal) instead of the mafia (pyro).
Like I already kinda said, I was really hellbent on winning that day. As you have or will see in the mafia thread, we were totally convinced I wouldn't make it once the vig detail was out.
Also, I'm at UoGuelph for Chemistry, not engineering. Just so you know!

Yeah, I didn't kill Mal because I figured he wasn't adding much to the discussion. I didn't do much thinking before the day phase started, so it didn't really come to my attention that Mal would HAVE to be town to have voted for Pyro that day.
Also, if you look at the time of my kill of cakes it was very close to the beginning of the night phase.

Glad I had everyone fooled int eh thread for so long. To be fair, I bused everyone but Pyro very early, iirc. At least with Ank, and I remember Pyro stating on our chat something about how soon it was. I knew Ank was screwed, though, and needed to appear more town.

I think overall my play as mafia was almost more of a 1-man show in the long run. I knew I would be one of the last people left simply because of my vanilla claim, mafia have yet to ever NK me, and the PGO scare. I knew things had to be tilted my way throughout the game. I screwed up big on my insistence that Mal was scum.
I really, really should have just voted Pyro and looked all the townier for it.

I should have told you to just vote me earlier on in the day but I was really hoping on that swing vote. Oh well, you live and learn. I'll try to think of some better last words too.
