Diablo 2 Ladder Reset!

It just feels like too much work to play ladder and have no items.

You can test your pvm and trading skill at beginning

Is iron maiden still present in chaos sanctuary? I remember giving up going there with my barb. Just kept dying to reflect damage no matter how careful i played :(

They removed it after 1.12patch so no more iron maiden in chaos/throne

Oh yes the times when we could play games offline. Should have kept d2 for laptop :(

I'm very tempted to do it and probably would if D3 had never come out, but after playing D3, I expect D2 will simply feel too old-fashioned and dead-end.

I had D2 loaded on my PC when D3 came out, and you're right. Software ages poorly.

I honestly find it amazing how so many people care about a ladder; I see no point in it. What does comparing yourself with someone you never met nor will meet in real life mean? Why do you have to be "better" than someone else?

It is not about competition for most. It is about the fact that there are ladder-only items/upgrades and runes, and when the ladder gets reset all your characters go to non-ladder. So if you want to be able to have those ladder-only perks, you have to restart your ladder character/s with all fresh level 1 guys.

That's what is good about it... it forces you to restart to keep access to the best stuff. It is almost like a reward for going back to level 1.

I've come to loathe the ladder. That's a great idea for a mechanic - one that splinters and segregates the player base even more.

All this means is I'll never get around to beating Hell with my poison amazon (a great low level, low gear character btw) or Blade Fury assassin.

D2 gameplay is soooo boring.

You just stand there and spam javelins, orb and everything falls over.

You don't even have to dodge or move or think..

So no, It's done for me (it was fun, once upon a time though)

I'm starting with the new ladder.

I've heard only bad things about Diablo 3, and even though Diablo 2 is quite outdated, it will always have something of mine, and the experience when you start fresh with your mates is something that's truly awesome and should inspire other games. I haven't played Diablo 2 in quite a while (at least 2 years) but I'm really looking forward to going through the game with some of my mates
