Has anyone played this yet? Will it bring back fans who left for other titles?
I don't think I will bother trying it myself as pandas don't fit into wow imho but I would be interested in hearing what anyone in this community thinks MoP will do for wow.
Many wise words are spoken in jest, but they don’t compare with the number of stupid words spoken in earnest.
I've never been gone from WoW (I took breaks but never long enough to deactivate account), but so far I love MoP. Opinions can differ, but I find that Pandaren are not just pandas, they are a well developed and deep enough race. And to all the kids shouting Kung Fu Panda, Blizzard was first
I haven't played enough to give a deep review, but the quest lines above level 85 are wonderful and story driven. A lot of variation. A great example of explaining this is in the quest achievements: it's not a straight number anymore (like "complete 100 quests in Borean Tundra" or whatever) but rather a sum of storylines ("complete the following storylines in Jade Forest"). Also the Pet Battle system is very fun and addictive.
I don't know whether it will bring a lot of players back (in my guild, a lot of oldbies have returned, that's for sure) but I think it will definitely keep more existing players still interested. I speak for myself, but I know I am sold.

When people tell me "plz" just because it's shorter than 'please', I feel perfectly justified to answer 'No' because it's shorter than 'Yes'.
And the Lord said unto Carl: 'Come forth and receive eternal life'. But Carl came fifth and won a toaster.
The new skill system is a will-breaker in my opinion.
The instant I saw that on log-in, I cancelled.
^ This.
I was actually all geared up to play me some pandas and pokemon, but when that new skill system rolled out I literally lost all interesting in playing any of my characters. I fiddled with it a little on each character (I have at least one 85 of every type) and I just was not feeling it. I'm not a baby that fears change, I rolled through the previously skill system overhauls without breaking a sweat but this one is just lame. It really is too bad because I was really liking some of the other new stuff, but I just can't get into the new skill system. It isn't that it is too difficult or complicated. Just the opposite really, boring and uninspiring. Oh, and the new tanking mechanics are super lame. Active mitigation or whatever they are calling it is for the birds. Tanks already have to worry about damage, threat, positioning and fight mechanics, I think passive avoidance isn't too much to ask. It's worked just fine until now. But I digress...
I used to play WOW and i was in Pandaria. I think this game is slowly dying. I hate to say it, but fewer and fewer people are playing this right now. If you have any doubts maybe you should watch some trailers or gameplays on Youtube. My favourite is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2hhYAnS57A
Hmm, no offence, but most of the comments in the style of "this game is dying" come from people who have stopped playing it. And that might cloud their judgement a little.
The activity is not the same as before, that's for sure, but what can you expect from a game that just reached its 8th birthday? Fact is that there is still plenty of activity, and now with the recent decision to make most zones cross-realm, you actually feel like you're in a populated game again. I personally don't like this decision very much, because in my humble opinion, more people just means more idiots. Yes, I love people online. But in general, you do feel as if you're playing a crowded game again.
Less people playing? Sure. Game dying? Way overstated.

You're right. My judgement may not be most objective :P When i started playing wow a lot of people played with me. But when i was finishing playing there were a few of them (comparing with my begins). But i have to admit that i don't know how many people plays right now.
I am still playing WoW and really like Pandaland. I have spent most of my time at the Tillers, raising rep for Klaxxi and doing a few new dungeons. You get used to the new skill system. It's not terrible but has been dumbed down a bit, which is fine really. Rogues are energy starved a bit but hopefully we get some love in the next patch or two.
Rose: You're an alien? You sound like you're from the North.
Doctor: LOTS of planets have a North!!!
