At first I bought a cheap OH with LS and similar DPS but less defensive stats. I also bought a belt with LS but lesser defensive stats. The LS seems to work okay, but the defensive stats I lost hurt a bit. After determining the LS was working okay but I really seemed to be squishy. So I bought the new OH, Belt, Shoulders to beef up the defensive stats I lost from adding LS without sacrificing dps.
Started building this guy once I saw what was going to happen to monks in 1.0.5. I'm pretty happy with him so far, but still have some work to do gear-wise and would like to get to a point where I can use LS instead of LoH. I run Act 3 at MP3 pretty easily.
Update: Swapped to using LS and running MP4/MP5 without much issue now that my resistances are in order. I use either a WW or a Rend based build, depending on the scenario.
Tiny is your typical sprint/dual whirlwind/thrive on chaos berserker. He's at ~120k DPS in full battle-raged super-saiyan mode hitting crits of up to 70k from WW and 230k from bash.
My goal with him is to reach a base un-buffed 100k DPS without breaking 100mil gold. I've made some splurge purchases... like the $12m vile wards. I just love the way they look though. I imagine any demons that make it through the whirlwind of swords would get impaled on those twin horns and he would come out of the fray with random limbs dangling from his shoulders.
I play on MP5. For his defense I've focused on armor over resistance. This synergizes (is that a word?) well with his stacked strength. He's over 10k armor and my lowest res is 500. I only die when I'm not paying attention and (ironically) playing on a lower MP and run out of fury. Arcane sentries don't bother me unless there are 5 out at once and I'm not spinning. I'll probably swap out bash for frenzy if I can get another ~5% crit chance, so I can better deal with single targets while burning in a pool of molten and plague.
I could get another 15k DPS out of using my axe in my main hand, but then I can't manage my fury very well. How are you axe barbs keeping WotB up? Do I just need 50% crit chance or higher? Because I feel like the crits from Sprint nados never generate any fury.
updated, bought black thorns jacket, and pants w/ socket, and bots i had on hand and elites just got way easier, is the belt worth it for the 6% reduce dmg from elites and odes " reduce x% dmg from elites" mean "all dmg" ie arcane plague etc?
I am running WW, but nothing like the "usual" WW build.
From the start of Diablo III I wanted to run a dual handed axe, so I was lucky they included a Skorn in the endgame gear
I ran inspiring presence for a long time and loved it, due to the survivebility it granted me with about 2200 regen.
Two weeks ago decided to up my DPS and started running weapons master again.
Currently I am looking for an IK chest with life regen above the 350 to compensate the regen I lost.
Further improvements will come from lacuni bracers (9%AS and 4.5%CC) I am hoping to buy within a few weeks. (finally 24% MS)
And finally the Mempo will be replaced with an IK helm for the five set bonus, or to be more specific the fury gain, since the other 2 bonus abilities pretty much suck. You guys have any more suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Build slightly varies based on what I do, but usually using furious charge and unforgiving variant of sprint/whirlwind build for paragon leveling. Guide should be available soon at http://youtu.be/Q8mp6HfYx20
