GrimD3 v1.03 [Graphics Enhancement]

First off I would like to say I take no credit in making DarkD3.
All credit goes to Pyloneer @ http://darkd3.com/ (Which was down when I typed this.)


DarkD3 does not modify game files or give you an advantage.
Please read the quite below to find out more info.
It may cause frame rate drops on slower PCs, can't say for sure as I don't own one.

I tweaked the DarkD3 settings file you can see the changes below.

I recommend you click the gear icon and view them as full resolution.
It will popup in the top right corner when you hover over an image.
The pictures don't really do it justice, seeing it for yourself is much better.


How to install


1. Download this .zip: http://www.mediafire.com/?qiydeh4gewf5a54
2. Extract/copy all the files in this zip into the root directory of your Diablo 3 install folder.
3. Play the game!

*Note if you are already playing you will need to restart Diablo for changes to take affect
*Pressing the Pause/Break key will turn GrimD3 on/off in game.

There is also a font changer.
It will change a dropped item's font to the Diablo font instead of Arial.

How to install:


1. Extract/copy the files from the Font Change folder into the root directory of your Diablo 3 install folder.
2. Press Change the dropped item labels ingame from Arial to Diablo Font
3. Play the game!

*If you don't like the font change run the program again and press Restore to Normal

Disclaimer:
What you are about to download is a Direct3D hooking filter. It is a DLL file and some shader filter files that you place in the game's install directory. IT DOES NOT MODIFY ANY GAME FILE OR PROCESS MEMORY. The Steam Overlay and the FRAPS fps indicator use a similar method to change what directx and your video card renders on screen. BUT still I'm not 100% sure if something like this is allowed by Blizzard or whether they will count it as a "mod". So use it at your own risk, even though I've used a filter similar like this for WoW for a year, it was called ENBSeries, some others used that and never heard of anyone getting banned for using it.


Current issues:
-There is no Mac OSX version of this.. yet. Sorry I didn't mention this before.


[CRASH AFTER UPDATE? READ THIS]
-The game seems to crash with the "d3d9.dll" file in the folder the FIRST time you launch the game or after a patch update. To resolve this, rename "d3d9.dll" into something else, then launch the game, close the game after, then rename the dll file back to "d3d9.dll". Then try to launch the game again.


-Mumble users:
The Mumble overlay conflicts with this and causes the game to crash if you try to run it with this on. You can disable the Mumble overlay for Diablo 3 to fix this.


-MSI Afterburner OSD users:
The Afterburner OSD conflicts with this, just like the mumble overlay. You can probably disable it just for Diablo 3 in the settings.


-NVIDIA OPTIMUS based laptops [FIXED]:
The game will be forced to run on your integrated card (not your nvidia card) and will have really bad performance if you use this filter and you have an Optimus technology based laptop.
[FIX]: On the website, download the darkd3 utility program (read the information first) by clicking on the "Extras" button.


-Running FRAPs, or launching the game with Steam Overlay, with MSI Afterburner Onscreen Display, or the Mumble overlay make the filter possibly not work or cause a crash. (The MSI Onscreen display can possibly be fixed by following these instructions: http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?h...page=2#1344176 (Instead of BF3 it would be Diablo III))


[POSSIBLE CRASH FIX FOR OTHER PROBLEMS]
Some people have reported that using the "Optimus fix" in the Extras utility fixed the crashing problems for them, even if they didn't have Optimus. The reason this might work is because it makes the game use the d3d9.dll with a different name, making the overlay programs or some other programs using d3d9.dll hooks not conflict with the filter therefore not causing a crash but the conflicting overlay might not work properly anymore.

I like it. Although I do think that instead of washing over EVERYTHING with darker colors, if you kept the skill icons/resource globes the original color it would look better. right now those two things look dull and are things that should be more pronounced.

The font changer is awesome just how it is. I think it should be in the vanilla game.

During the beta, I was really excited about DarkD3, I agree, it makes the game look a lot better. Sadly, after the game was released, I realized that D3's problems go WAY beyond lighting and color.

I cannot change where it overlays, it just does the whole thing.
