Is the wizard underpowered?

Yes and no. I'm playing quite a bit now, and I still haven't achieved my goals in the game. I don't think most people have.

Secondly, with the way the game is designed, I think ladder reset would be very bad. Things don't drop frequently enough to support a 6-month ladder season.

Although, the economy certainly floods very fast after a patch :/

I do wonder exactly how low prices will go on Legendaries though.

You can always play HC, their economy is not nearly so bad.
