Auction house vs. loot and plunder

So I just started using the AH and it is a lot better IMO. AH for the win. What do y'all think? Do y'all find good enough loot to stay clear.

I use the AH; I have no problems with only finding upgrades for my own gear very infrequently.

I run with about 200 MF (of self found gear) so that usually gets me enough upgrades through drops that I don't need to rely on the AH. But I've kind of avoided the AH as a matter of principal, but I'm also dirt poor, so that keeps me from going hog-wild. (2.5 million at the moment.) I like to use it when there are certain stats my gear is really lacking and I want to patch up holes and that usually costs me anywhere from 10-50k.

IMO don't buy huge upgrades. Focus on little upgrades so that you can actually find upgrades while playing.

I prefer big upgrades, but on the other hand, this leaves me with several slots that are far less awesome than my others.

The problem with big upgrades for me is that your never gonna find a huge upgrade by yourself and thats the reason I play. I love hunting for items and finding a 1300dps weapon when I only use a 900dps weapon.

You'll reach a point where you can no longer find upgrades, because legendaries almost never drop, and the ones that do are worse than what anyone would use. The AH becomes a must.

Not for me the only reason I play is to MF.

Re: Auction house vs. loot and plunder

I started to play 1 act clears with capped MF (375 with NV).
    My route is:
    Festering woods
Cemetery (I need to find Dataminer here)
Northern highlands - tower -> leoric manor
Halls of Agony 2 -> Butcher

I think this is pretty standard run and I`m able to finish it in 20 minutes.
I have 1 full inventory of 61+ items
I did not found single usable legendary after 4 hours of farming (12 runs)
I will try for couple more hours, but I feel all the D3 endgame is non-existant.

So what should be the legendary drop ratio for you to do these runs for several days/weeks?
