Defensive Barb is now useless?

So i have this barb http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/D.../hero/10739023 - i don't think my gear is great or anything, but with recent nerfs the whole inferno is complete joke, even diablo can't even scratch me. Only thing you can do now in game is farming and because of low dmg it feels pretty much meh... Is WW barb really only way to go and do i have to spend another tens of millions to get different gear just to farm faster, cause defense is now useless?

You can make a really high DPS build without using WW...if you're finding yourself invulnerable start with a second weapon, some cheap crit gear, and an Emerald in that axe.

Rend with a 2H is fun, HotA with a 2H is fun. 2H are the thing nowadays, working on the principle that attack speed doesn't matter if you blow things up in 2 hits. I still dislike HotA because it feels underwhelming to hit things with, and Smash isn't very AoE, but rend is fun.

If your not buying really high end gear, you can get some good deals on good gear. When I switched from defensive to offensive build I was amazed at the gear I could get for 500k-2m per slot. The key is taking your time I did it over 5 days or so. Bidding on gear and not always using the buyout option. That was 6 or 7 weeks ago, now better gear is available on the ah for even more reasonable prices.

Regarding builds there are some good threads right in this forum WW/Nado, Hammer of the Ancients(took a hit in patch), Rend builds, and Weapon Throw builds.

Inferno can't touch you because you have 1k all resists buffed, 11+K armor and a 30% block stormshield.

We have very similar builds, except I have 41k base dps, so not only is inferno a cakewalk, but i'm killing quite quickly. Farming via a rend/revenge strategy is very satisfying because i'm tanking and playing a barb the way i envision a barb should be played

I just bought a 29% stormshield yesterday for cheap off the AH. I can't believe how flooded the stormshield market is. There are just sooo many of them, you can get a decent mid-20's block stormshield now (post 1.0.4) for 3-4 mill. I paid a little more for mine but it is has 252 str and perfect 80 AR. Legacy shields with 30+% block have buyouts of 2mill. This is a great time to be a tank barb

That's the build that i used last night and i'm quite comfortable with it. I decided to go a tad more defensive while keeping my max life at 40k. That's 41k base dps without crit on ammy and shield, and i'm using vit rings with no strength. If i swap out a few pieces, i'm closer to 50k base dps

If i pop wrath, i'm over 100k dps and the bad guys go down fast

Yeah i would be happy with something like this. Looks pretty versatile. Much higher dps and defense is basically the same like i have (only difference is 1350 LOH on my barb).

when i was running a Sprint strategy (with either WW or Charge), i was running with about 1600-1800 loh depending on gear choices, however, with a tank build, you don't need it. The piece that remains currently is my 460 loh ammy because it has 200+ strength. However, I'm looking to swap it out with something a little more godly...an ammy with high str, crit %, crit dmg and attack speed. These ammy's are pretty hard to come by and are extremely expensive so i'm just going to be patient. Hoping to find one for max 30 million
