Anyone got their meals all planned out for the week?
I went with some middle-eastern food, and made tabooleh, chicken shara and tahini sauce. I store bought the hummus and spent the last several days assembling my meals.
BTW, after some google fu, I have started adding flax and spinach to my smoothies. It's really amazing that that still tastes good. i thought it was going to be really gross, but you can't tell at all, and you can always add some honey.
I'm stillnot doing much more than pushups and running, so no body building, but random health kicks are fun.
here's my recipes i found (for above):

I used curly parsley because it was on sale. also, i already owned white onions so that was different too. For fun i threw a little cilantro and a little mint into the salad. I think it made it better.
I got #2 bulgar wheat, and it took almost the whole two hours to "puff up". the puffing is really more of a soaking up. the thinner stuff might work faster, but I wonder if the texture of the bigger stuff might make it worth the wait.
The tahini recipe was on the jar.
The chicken i just put a bunch of on sale chicken thighs (1.99/lb!) on the grill with allspice and black pepper as seasonings. I chose allspice because it was the closest thing to a middle eastern spice i could find. Here's a real recipe I found after I had already made it.

Also, buy twice as many pitas as you think you'll need.
Juice and Coffee, Greek yogurt and or Eggs, Bananas, Bread. No Real Lunch other than a bowl of soup and Agua frescas as I take a nap and the stairs. Last meal is home cooked by my Wife or a Restaurant, or if I had the day off or felt inspired and spent time in the kitchen, I eat the results.
6'1' tall, and vary from 150lb low to 160lb Since I hit Adolescence.
I eat what looks good when I want and pass on anything but a nibble of anything else.
I have sex swim and walk and watch or play with the kids not much else.
No Pain is No Pain is my Motto.
Damn, I'm pretty thin, but you're a stick! I'm 5'9" with shoes on. and I'm just getting back to under 160. I noticed my weight went way up when I started smoking less and drinking a lot less coffee. I realized that those were appetite killers and I stopped doing a smoothie with breakfast nad now have a smoothie FOR breakfast. My weight is coming back down. I used to never exercise but I had an old friend staying here while he put himself back together, and he used to run Cross country in high school with me. Well, he's still running and now he's got me doing it. It's actually great exercise and it's really fulfilling when i can go a little farther without stopping each time. I'm nowhere close to as fast or as much edurance as when i was in high school, but a decade or so of sitting on my butt all day will do that to you.
Ran CC in Jr High till started getting water on the knee and had to have it drained twice, so I quit.

that sucks. it's a really laid back sport to train for. half our drills were run slowly enough that you can talk to the guy next to you--for a long time. then, stretch, turn around and run back. My coach who liked to think he was clever called it "doing LSD" (Long Slow Distance). It was basically just hanging out, but staying in shape at the same time.
Speed workouts sucked, so I don't do any of that anymore.
Have you tried getting the super-squooshy shoes? they make trainers for people with knee issues--as long as its not too bad anyway.
