The first night of the patch I went back to act 3 and roflstompped my way through most of it and noticed that drops were quite good with very little MF on. Since then, I tried going back to Act2 and MF heavy and noticed tons of ilvl 62s and below but most of the rolls were just okay. I am looking for feedback from people that do a bit of both and tell us if you have had similar experiences as I am beginning to wonder if it isnt better to just run Act 3 again? Thoughts?
So far A3 drops have seemed much higher quality than A2 post patch, though I've only run A2 once. As for A3 vs A4, A3 has a ton of champs all the way through, especially after Siegebreaker. A4 seems fairly sparse for the amount of time you spend running around looking for packs.
I've been splitting my time between both Acts the last two nights as I play my Monk with tons of MF with friends in Act 2 and my Barb with no MF besides my Follower, NV and Paragon in Act 3. I have to say that the drops are better in Act 3. I haven't gotten anything worth writing home about in Act 2 over numerous runs and in Act 3 I got maybe a few things I might keep.
Maybe I'm just unlucky though because the people in my group I was running with found an SoJ, a Jeweler Design, and an Andariel's Visage in the last two days all in Act 2.
My barb has a lot of mf but crap resistances, so I just stick with Act 2. The rare item quality isn't that fantastic but I've been seeing legendary items on a regular basis for about a week and a half in act 2. Maybe like 1 per 3 hours spent.
Well I know it is RNG, but something I am seeing is that ilvl 62 and below legendary items might be able to drop in Act2, but perhaps only ilvl63 legendary items can drop in act3-4? One other thing to note, I am seeing much better blue items in Act3. For example higher damage rolls on weapons ilvl 60-62 with the max modifiers.

a2 and a1 post patch drop rubbish. I had 355% with 5 stacks and got 3 rares out of three below lvl 60 more than once.

So, decided to go on a built of a D3 binge this weekend... I upgraded almost all slots on my Barb (still saying NO to WW build because I like my build enough) and still carry zero MF (some on Follower). I think around Paragon Level 7 is when everything change. Running A3 and noticing lots of random rares, as my roomie likes to call them, off of weapon racks and white mobs and then boom, two Legendaries, same game. A little later, another Legendary. This is Friday night/early Saturday morning. Saturday, two Legendaries, one being a set item, too. Sunday, two more Legendaries, one being a set item as well. I had only found one set item prior to the patch and roughly 15 Legendaries total. Meanwhile, the rares were all "solid," with a few exception cases of, "I can sell this!" or "I can use this," in consideration of alts.
I estimate roughly 34 hours of play this weekend so a little less than one every five hours.
How are other people finding things progressing especially as the Paragon Level goes up?
I think if you can do A3, you should. That seems to be the best spot. Maybe for more analysis I'll use my Barb in A2 for a few runs rather than my Monk, just to be fair.
hopped back on d3 to see patch notes, did an hour or so of messing around with different skills and logged without much improvement to drops.
logged back on the next day and found a legendary on the 1st act1 pack i killed (0mf 0NV); something i wasn't sure was possible as you need mf to improve the no. of affixes on item drops. might be that something has been changed with the way mf works?
