He's probably referring to the Online play only major design flaw of D3. PoE has the same issues with latency and rubber banding as D3 for players who don't live next door to the game's servers. If you live in another country besides the america's, europe or asia, that's a bit of a design flaw.
Customization that looks and play bad, it's one of the worst atrociously badly made d2 clone wannabe that I've tried so far, wished I could take back that hour or so I've wasted. I'm absolutely astounded that people can actually spend hours looking and playing at that piece of crap, I'll rather choose d2 over that anyday. Bad story, bad graphics, terrible anti-d3 elitist community, made by a terrible anti-d3 company.
Back to topic, more AH whines, as usual.
AH is clearly the most efficient way of trading in D3, since the game actually has a gold economy.
One of the things I really hated in D2 was to spend hours refreshing game names, as well as joining trade games (always with minimal results besides being bombarded by "wug"). AH eliminates all that crap and makes trading more efficent and straight to the point. It's time to live out of that historic d2 bubble.
That's another one. Massive desync can cause the same sorts of problems huge hit boxes cause in D3 = unresponsive gameplay.
Oh and even at its worst there was no point in time where D3 was disconnecting me nearly as often as PoE.
It has about as much as D2.
Meaning people think there's a lot, but because there's clear and obvious ways of doing things... not so much.
This would change if more stats were useful (evasion, I'm looking at you).
Yo I hear the new Call of Duty is gonna have loot drops and MEGA customization. Like, you can put different camouflage on your hat and shoes this time. And you can pick if you want your guy to be a white guy or a black girl. Crazy right?
LOL this convo has me wondering what my son will pick.
Softcore Evaluator
Yeah well public relations (feedback etc) have been horrible on this game that isn't news for anybody.
As for 1.0.4... this is a step in the right direction but for me it feels like emergency aid.
The poor state the game was in for 3months had enough time to really bore me and disregard the game. The damage is heavy and already done. Now I got 1.0.4 so that it doesn't die immediately but the damage are still there and painful.
For the people that were still interested in D3 however, they are probably happy.
So here it is... this is a good patch but I noticed I'm really not interested anymore by what this dev team produces.
that is kind of how i feel... this patch, even though i love everything they've done with it, is just not enough. its only a band-aid for the real itemization/item hunt problems. and the fact that i played so many hours hoping it would get better, yea, damage was done.
i played with some friends the first night of the patch, and it was fun talking about changes... but every time i play alone it feels like a total chore - though that could partially be because ive gained about 5 paragon levels farming with over 200% magic find, and the ONLY thing of worth i could find was a chest piece that sold for 50,000 gold. grinding gold = not a fun time.
Ok, since the main concept of this thread is rate of good item drops and GAH/RMAH effect on the slot machine feel of Diablo....I'm proposing a simple fix.
When you create a character, along with being softcore/harcore...you designate them as "self found" or able to use the AH. Anything found on a self found character can be used by that character or transferred to any self found alts on the account, not to AH chars. Blizz creates another set of drop tables based on self found character with increased drop rates on legendaries, etc (similar drop rates as in D2, perhaps)...
Yes, this further fragments the Diablo community, but it seems to be the simplest (conceptually) way for fixing the issue. No clue how easy or difficult on the programming/server space side, but considering they have already instituted it with hardcore/softcore, maybe it's doable again?
