Yeah, I was messing with my wizard, experimenting with different weapon types and using one-shot cooldown attacks. Even with similar DPS, a 2H beat a 1H every time, even with offhand damage buffs.

    Here I go, using a 2H mace with a Wizard. Even when I'm not a Barbarian I'm a Barbarian.

Quick question do we get the 9% lifeleech from rend fully in inferno or does it get reduced ?.

It gets reduced, but it's still really good with a nice, big damage two hander.

Yeah, I downright live off of Rend, easy. The Inferno nerf on life leach isn't an issue.

IF you want a crazy fun build try mine. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/P.../hero/11194193
now mind you I am sitting at 92k dps unbuffed. I rely on ignorepain to walk into a group. Pop a cleave then rend. Then if its elites I pop earthquake as my big fury spender. and for Instant Cleave life steal Overpower with REvel = amazing. When battling the Shadow clones in Phase 2 of fighting diablo3 I save overpower plus ignore pain and those guys die SWiftly.

Seriously If I got a Skorn. Well it would be insane.

anyone use rend in inferno and optionally with a shield or does it have to be a 2h for the big damage? ever since unlocking blood lust, it's replaced revenge and currently up to a3/NM, I wonder if it'll start to lose effectiveness when my damage doesn't scale to 2h type dps but tried going back to revenge and although the proc is more powerful it doesn't seem as useful as rend now.

potentially going s+b in a bid to survive HC inferno..

You'd have to do the math to know for sure, but my gut feeling is that if you're playing a traditional, high vit, high defense, sword & board spec you'll get more mileage out of revenge. Rend shines with high damage per hit and more mobile play-styles, where the ability to deal a ton of damage in one application helps when dancing in and out of dangerous mobs.

If you like to wade right in you'll be getting a lot of revenge procs which means more healing and more damage.

until I ding 60 I can't do any sort of math but I feel a bit more robust when I have rend bleeding them at the start of a fight and I'm getting quite used to leap, ground stomping the trash, rending them and start hacking away with frenzy.

I think I would miss the aoe damage/heals if i switch to revenge, I used revenge on my previous DW barb before a fallen maniac exploded on me, hence the defensive bias this time.

The bigger revenge damage is nice but rend keeping my health topped up rather than revenge's big spike of healing is better on the old nerves, plus I don't think I'll have more than about 700 LoH to sustain me with single dagger frenzy..

I was lucky enough to find a decent skorn (1.2k dps, 335 strength) and it's awesome how I can easily turn everything in act 3 into mush.

My barb is still kinda squishy though, I have around 1k AR with buff, 35k HP, 7k armor, what needs to be upgraded?

Honestly, you might want to try hitting 40k life (or even more with a tanky build rather than a mobility build). Assuming you're using Rend for leech, you might find yourself being 2-shotted before you can get leech going. Other than that, maybe some more armor.
