Conviction merc vs conviction enchanted monster and other

Ok I would like some clear answer to this ( search wasn't useful )

When we have conviction aura on a merc, via the runeword Infinity, does it cancel out the monster's conviction aura?
If so, does this cancellation work only for the merc, or for player or both?

What is the max level conviction of monsters as opposed to lvl 12 from infinity?

Re: Conviction merc vs conviction enchanted monster and other

The Infinity polearm's Level 12 Conviction Aura When Equipped prevents level < 12 Conviction applying to the mercenary provided it is equipped beforehand, but it does not prevent level < 12 Conviction applying to the player or any other allies.

Aside from uber Mephisto (level 20 Conviction), maximum level 11 Conviction (-80% elemental resistance) is supplied by monsters: slvl = [mlvl/8], so even an Aura Enchanted Nihlathak in Hell only supplies level 11 [95/8].
