guess it's time to say goodbye to my hybrid tank/ranged spec DH. melee wizards really have it easy after seeing what the melee DH got.
They nerfed three skills that melee DHs were using. XD Not a single one of them was nerfed even as little as by half; Caltrops (jagged spikes) went from .65 or so to not proccing at all, Grenades (Gas Grenades) went from .5 to .165 (a bit worse than 1/3), and Chakram (Shuriken Cloud) went from .333 to .125 (3/8). I'm not at all sure any variant of the melee DH build will work anymore; they probably can't generate enough discipline to keep running Gloom, and without that, they were reliant on massive LoH procs from skills whose proc coefficients all vanished.
I'm not saying melee wizards didn't get kicked below the belt, but at least they have star pact and spectral blades. I think melee DHs are just sunk.
So... what are the chances Cinder Trail Vault will be the new melee DH spec?
500% weapon damage per second is kind of impressive.
So, they fixed like a couple of spells with an improper coefficient. I guess there's someone at Blizzard listening to me and sneaking in some patch notes, but just couldn't sneak in changes to all the many other skills with broken proc coefficients
Seriously, though, I don't understand why they only fix some of the coefficients to where they're supposed to be rather than fixing all of them.
As for melee DH and the likes, that should come from giving people smoke screen alternatives and ways to stay alive without depending on very high proc coefficients combined with high life per hit, as that's how pretty much everyone are staying alive nowadays, at least in melee, and seems like it's here to stay, except with less skills that support this style.
Definitely a lot of changes and at first glance, they all sound good.
Can't wait to use the new archon with 1600% damage lol!
Looks interesting but ... the class changes arent that big. For example they made rend high dmg and what now about earthquake ? Rend looks totally OP compared to 2 mins CD skill... etc etc. A lot of random changes not being class balancing at all. A lot of changes for PVE to counter the stupid monsters affixes. With PvP introduced all those skills will be reworked again.
Well - paragon lvls looks awesome but still when you get lvl 100 paragon its the end of "fun".
Legendary items are cool now but:
Sets have still terrible bonuses :/
As people mentioned the economy is controlled by gold farmers and still will be but now its going to be also legendary farmers. The prices will skyrocket above high heavens punching diablo in head ...
Hm. All WD builds are dead, tank DHs are dead, and Overpower is back to being pointless again. They also nerfed Hammer of the Ancients when they were supposed to be buffing it.
...
Look, more hidden footprints!
Give me two, three more patches like that, normal end-game (Paragon levels are NOT end-game), a concurrent league with ladder and no RMAH/AH, improved itemization of rare items and then we can talk about D3 living to the lowest possible expectations.
