I have 80mil Gold, should I sell on RMAH?

Hi all

I havent played D3 as much as I would like and probably not in the forseeable future. I amassed around 80mil in gold and rather than having it just sit there I was wondering if it is worth selling on RMAH?

I've had a quick peak and selling 100k = 0.25p (GBP) so if I sold all my gold I'd get around 200 odd pounds not inc fees. I wouldnt selling it all but i'm guessing you dont sell the whole lot in one go right?

Has anyone had experience with selling gold? Should I just put it all up in one go for sale?

well if you feel your gear right now is OP enough then sell it but i wouldn't suggest it cause of the new patch coming out, you might wanna save your gold for items to buy on AH.

Yeah I'd like to have at least 100m for trading once the patch comes out.

he barely plays so should cash out now and if he wants to play again later he can buy some gold with his profits.

The pacing for this type of turn-around is, like, a month. I did it in early July with my DH gear, sold it all for about $30 RM. Picked up some replacements for farming in early August. Got back to around the same effectiveness (probably a bit better) for around 4m gold.

if it sells it wont sell till right near the end; bliz uses a FIFO system.

Off-hand but related question: is there a typical time frame/rate for selling large quantities of gold? If so, how much gold (max) can be sold per day?

You mean 80 M gold takes around a month to sell?

Oh, I think I was mis-interpreting viledevil. I took his comment on cashing out to refer to gear for some reason.
If you sell gear now, you can buy the equivalent quality for less within a month. So if someone is going on vacation or is temporarily retiring from the game they would be able to profit from doing a clearance then rebuying when they resume.
