Lore runword failed - why ?

Hey guys,

I tried to create a runeword Ort + Sol on a Helm.
The item did not turn into a Lore helm...

what gives ??

That's a rare item which has a mod that gives it 2 open sockets. Runewords can only be made in white (or if you want to nitpick, they are gray once they have sockets) items. Just be glad it wasn't an expensive runeword

In the lists it said it worked on all 2-socketed headgear.. but not rares apparently :(

Or magic items for that matter.

You can socket ethereal, non-magic/rare/unique items to make runewords, however.

Like IncubatorJones said, be happy it was an inexpensive runeword
