    How does D2 fare nowadays?

Since D3 is assumed a mixed blessing - D2 seems a valid alternative for a good H&S... I wonder if D3's questionable success translated to D2's increase in popularity. What do you think, is there more players online compared to, say, 1year ago, or less?

Much less. More bots compared to real players has created an Inflation in the economy.

Easier to come by runes imo.

Last ladder was the last good ladder imo. So I turned to Single Player, and now to the mod Median XL. (After Inc.Jones convinced me'h!)

    Peace

I've pretty much turned to single player as well. I still maintain all my characters on USEast, but they don't see much use anymore. Besides I really needed something to respark my interest in the game and starting off from scratch in HC was the best way to do it.

If you looking for people on Bnet though, they are still out there, but even by looking at the trade threads you can tell activity dropped considerably. I still find actual people though, just have to join a couple games to find a goodish group.

I guess you're right guys. Well, I kinda hoped that the failure of Diablo3 will bring back players to old D2, but I guess not :( Shame, if the game wasn't abandoned by blizzard (like WC3: TFT) it would still be amazing. But, zero support is zero support.
