1-60 HC solo speedlevel in under 7 hours

I think cains laurel at 23 is a good all round helm to socket with a ruby and it's fairly universal in stats so benefits all classes in some way.

Yep, it's a good one, though I never bother switching Broken Crown from 16 till 40ish or even 42, just because I'm lazy to run to the jeweler to switch gems

Well, I have good reason to use this to replace my WD. He died at 57 last night in a tragic situation. I made the mistake of resuming (since I was on the same quest) at siegebreaker, Hell. That put me sitting at the last check point - basically pinned at the siegebreaker entrance with nothing but miles of mobs behind me and around me. Friend was joining the game, so I couldn't initiate the boss fight and gradually just got worn down. Fallen killed me. More accurately, the checkpoint system screwed me

I know that feeling. Since there is no way to do a panic-TP D2-style I always restart quests now so that I know I start in town.

Or, just be sure where you're going to spawn I use checkpoints heavily in my speedleveling, they save a ton of time! As long as I'm not afk, of course (yes, that happened)...

Yeah it wouldn't have really been a problem except that I was farming a slightly higher level then my gear safely allowed for, so I was relying on the ability to kite backwards towards cleared areas while taking mobs down.

The funny thing is I'm not even terribly sad about losing the WD - mostly upset about losing my Academic Horror (reduced level weapon). That weapon helped about 6 different characters through Hell and held a special place in my heart . Besides being a great weapon it had such an amazing name!

They reeeeeally need to put an auto-pause and reconnect into this game, just like in HoN.
