That list is really only appropriate for the purpose of beating the game in hardcore... and it looks like it hasn't been kept updated very well. I wouldn't consider it a good reference.

Um... at low levels your good skills are a bit limited. Fists of Thunder (Thunderclap) is awesome at any level. Dashing strike can pull your arse out of the fire. I... can't remember what else I found helpful at that level.

Re: First Time playing MOn : Best skills?

I found deadly reach (piercing trident) and crippling wave (mangle) to be the best dps skills for leveling. You're not really worried about procs or anything like that when leveling, and those two skills have good AoE and good damage, which is what you care about.

Serenity obviously is boss and belongs in all builds. Dashing strike has all kinds of uses, but for normal and nightmare difficulty its primary use is reducing the amount of walking you do, which is great. Why walk up to monsters when you can dash up to them?

If you're leveling untwinked mantra of healing, the first two runes are both good. Extra healing or passive spirit gen are both great. If you're twinked either mantra of conviction (overawe - submission would be a great leveling rune but they stuck it at level 60) or mantra of evasion (wind through the reeds). At first glance you'd think overawe is the obvious choice, but if you're twinking you often one-shot stuff, so more damage is pointless. The 5% extra runspeed from wind through the reeds wins out, less time walking, more time killing.

Exploding palm (the flesh is weak) can be pretty sweet at lower levels if you're untwinked. If you're twinked there's no point to it, as you'll just be one-shotting stuff with the generators, so the explosions are meh (don't scale with gear).

Good passives are fleet footed (obviously), seize the initiative, and guardian's path (assuming dual wield). Yes the latter two are defensive passives, but monks don't really have any good offensive passives. You could get exalted soul if you plan to use exploding palm in your build, that way you can spam out lots of them.

im using Fists of Thunder (Thunderclap) and the roundhouse kick thing with the first rune, also using the heal and sear enemies and the other skill where they suck them in and do damage
