no, thats not it at all. they are changing them. some will be better in their current form and will be worth a ton.
the thing that confuses me is how they're going to handle sets and set rewards. its going to be a cluster**** for the average player to understand what is old/new and what gives set bonuses.
I want to know if nat's set bonus will survive, consider if they have a buffed version of the set, how on earth do you know which set gives the old bonus and which the new.
Even though it was stated that they wouldn't change the bonus (which is a step in the right direction), I cant see how they can have 2 types of items that work towards different bonuses, single items sure but a whole set will end up messy.
I suspect that if nat's bonus was changed in 104, then it will apply to old items as the bonus is a simply variable somewhere and not something that applies to each item.
I don't get why blizzard were so vague about it when it first happened, just makes them appear a little less competent.
If two-handers are noticably buffed then...
- Pressure on the 1-hander supply will probably drop since some will go for the 2-h option instead, and prices would fall.
- New 1-hander supply will be created as people switch, potentially creating oversupply and dropping the average prices.
- Pressure on the source/mojo/shield supplies will probably drop since some will go for the 2-h option instead, and prices would fall.
- New off-hand supply will be created as people switch, potentially creating oversupply and dropping the average prices.
My question is the degree of potential impact. Like, I can still see Shields being barely affected at all. Wiz and WD care about output pretty strongly, so I can see their offhands shifting significantly.
Probably best to liquidate/divest of 1-handers and off-handers early and often or preferentially or whatever.
i'd say all non-weapon legendary and sets are viable candidates - as you said in another thread it wouldn't be wise to divulge the details
Since the changes aren't going to be retroactive, i can see the set bonus's remaining the same. The set items would have to make up for the lackluster bonus's though.
I can't tell what will be different for existing legendaries that won't apply to future ones given the current patch notes. :/
I read through the notes and the summary like three times each and still can't spot it.
BUT, I did figure something else out; Voodoo Masks, Mojos, and Ceremonial Daggers (especially ones good for levelling) may see a value spike if the changes to summons are actually true. Those may be valid speculation grabs.
i suppose you're suggesting that they'll just add mods, but i think its more likely that they'll redo them - thats where i'm coming from at least.
Good point about the WD specific items. I don't have proof, but it seems like docs are the least played class and possibly because the minion style of play doesn't work in Inferno very well. I would suspect that maybe a sacrifice zombie dog type build would want a 2 hander for maximum damage per explosion, but the other summon type builds will go for a more standard 1-h/offhand type of gearing.
