Hitting a wall in A3 Inferno

This is my current build: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/R...5/hero/2833525

I have about 497 resists for my lowest, with about ~520 for my highest. Doesn't seem worth using the passive slot for OWE with this current gear.
I can clear A1 Inferno with no trouble. A2 I can solo with the occasion Elite pack killing me a few times before I make it through. A3 is obviously a different story. I can kill stuff but I die too much to make it anything even resembling fun.

With Enchantress, my defense is about 7200 and base DPS is still low, I know. I just subbed out a higher DPS mace for sword with lower DPS but more crit damage and my DPS went up a bit. I need a better weapon, just can't afford.

What can I upgrade the cheapest and get decent improved results? I only have about 1.7 mil in gold right now and can't farm A3 Inferno to sell items for more, so I feel kinda stuck. Any suggestions are welcome.

Your resists and LoH are too low for act 3. Monks are pretty much forced into 1we, you should be able to get up to 800 resist all quite cheaply picking a resist and stacking res all + res one. It is silly as a monk to have gear with multiple different res ones.

As for build, faith in the light is dramatically better damage than blazing wrath or foresight. I highly recommend swapping one of those two for faith in the light. You cast it any time you buff yourself with sweeping wind, and the sweeping wind will keep the benefit from it for its full duration.

Just so I'm clear, the blinding flash buff, if active when sweeping wind is active, stays as long as that casting is still going? If I recast while the wind is up to keep it from expiring, does it stay active still then? Either way, thanks for the heads up. With a 3 second active window, I never quite understood the appeal in using it, but now it all makes perfect sense.

What happened is that pre 1.03, I was angry with playing Monk and rerolled a DH. I gave him all of my gear and my monk was left with scraps. I eventually bought new gear with emphasis on dex and resist all, but didn't give much thought to 1we. And now, to stack a resist, I feel like all of the gear available in my price range means that I take a hit either in vitality or dexterity, especially since I now have a good amount of crit chance stacked up as well. That's my frustration: which gear I sub out first and potentially take the hit on now in order to get a good foundation for later.

As long as sweeping wind doesn't drop it will keep the faith in the light damage. You can refresh it by re-activating it and it will still keep the damage. Or you can refresh it by punching barrels or whatever. Only if the buff actually falls of the buff bar will you lose it.

3 seconds of buffed DPS is actually pretty good (especially against dangers elite pack suffixes where 3 seconds represents a very large percentage of the time you can spend attacking before having to do another round of kite-and-heal).

That said, I am also very interested in an answer to rob's questions about the benefits that Sweeping Wind gains from Blinding Flash and if they persist through a re-cast of Sweeping Wind (if that recast occurs before Sweeping Winds simply ends).

    EDIT: Shen'd by magicrectangle. Thanks!

Farm Act2 not Act3. It's much more cost effective unless you can steamroll act 3. Farming - half the gold it gets me comes from picking up gold, Salvaging level 61+ items, and selling items to vendor.

I see no source of life renewel other than 369LOH on weapon. I have 900LOH from amulet/ring, 925life per second replenish, 3.53 spirit per second, 24.4 bonus LPSS, and I don't find this enough in late Act 3.

I just bought a claw 895dps 616LOH 2.8 life leech and 39.8LPSS which should help me out but need to get my vita up first it's too low.

Note that Frenzy shrines are massive for buffing SW. FiTL gives a bigger boost with more APS (feature. You end up with about 50% more total SW damage from the shrine. BoH and Foresight also buff SW, but Foresight is very troublesome to activate before SW.
