After a Guardian, Conqueror and a Destroyer I've discovered the only thing I liked about HC was the restart! So I'm looking for something new to get my jollies. As I've mentioned before, I have Mats/Pats for all seven characters in all the patches I've played; 1.09, 1.11, 1.12 & 1.13. There is one obvious hole there and that's 1.10, so it's about time I filled that hole. So I've got a few questions. What is the best patch 1.10 to play? What were some of the interesting/best builds? What would be a good started character? A hammerdin? Anything I need to know besides the deadly FE bug (sorry, feature)?
hmm. For me, the best character is the one which doesn't rely on weapon damage to complete the game, or the one who can do it with zero +skills too. For me the best starter char is a necro summoner (skeleton warriors), 1 into revive, 1 decrepify, 20 into bone spear, 20 into bone wall (10 skeleton mastery, amp bone spells last). When I restarted last time, I went with a melee enchantress - boy she was challenge and fun! She died in A4 Hell tho, but it was the best I could pull with an encha.
Yep, while you're addressing 1.10 precisely, you could exploit Marrowwalks with +33 bone prison synergy with a necromancer (bone or bone/summon). Just have zero skill points in Bone Prison and wear them.
I understand that CE scales with player settings in 1.10a. That patch is pretty buggy though - you can't drop large items directly in your cube, for instance. I'm also pretty sure you can't get a Gheed's in that patch.
1.10a has +2 skills BKWB, easy beta CtA (only need Amn+Ral+Mal+Ist), though it ONLY works in 1.10a, 1.10s forward requires the Ohm at the end and renders your 1.10a CtA a gemmed item. 3 flawless gem cube formula for weapons (like the 3 chipped/normal formula, but can give up to 6(!!)sox). However, NO muling programs work with 1.10a...all muling is old skool MP muling.
1.10s has all the beta RWs (CtA, Cresent Moon, Delirium, Bramble, HotO), but no +2 BKWB...still no GoMule, but ATMA (4) works with it, which is a HUGE plus...
1.10final has the charges bug and the FE bug (I believe these are in effect for ALL 1.10 patches)
