Which 1H should I use?

I have a Wiz with a choice of 2 weapons.

Weapon 1 is a 928 DPS spear with a 90% crit gem in a socket. It has no other features.

Weapon 2 is a 865.9 DPS wand with 816 LOH and +9 max arcane power.

I usually use Blizzard/Hydra as my main build.

Blizzard/hydra won't get anything out of the LOH.

Make sure to get a little crit %. Around 15-20% should be enough to make the weapon a better choice than a similar price weapon with no socket. Source and gloves are the cheapest pieces to get crit % imo.

Weapon 2 could be used as a crit mass build because LOH works well with wicked wind.

Since we can do that now...here's my build. Farming Act2 quite easily with full MF gear and a hydra/blizz build.

You'll notice that I have a lot of attack speed %. That works well with hydra/blizz because it increase dmg but it doesn't increase AP cost. It's also cheaper than crit. My non-mf build does have crit everywhere and almost no attack speed though.

Can you look at my profile and see where I need improvement? I beat Belial after about 10 tries, but Act 3 clobbers me. I think I had an elite pack appear about 5 times in a row immediately and kill me when I didn't have any room to maneuver.

Every time I do act 2 in my normal gear I get so frustrated with annoying packs (snakes, lacuni, reviled) that I wished I just did act 3 instead... much less mf gear.

Anyways, to the op, I would use the first weapon since the crit will scale nicely with future upgrades and LOH doesn't work with hydra and works kind of sadly on blizzard.

However, I'd keep the loh in my bags for reflect packs and siegebreaker

celanian strange that you had so much trouble with belial? i killed him on first attempt and i only have 25k hp. but i think i used energy armour with the rune that reduces damage to 35%.

i'm too much of a newbie to help with gear though. How do i check my profile. It says it doesn't exist?

You're on the right track.

I'ld try to get res all everywhere but jewelry and maybe gloves because those are slots for huge damage output. There's also some pieces with a low res all that could be upgraded. Armor is almost free, look for it.

Glass cannon is a mandatory passive skill imo.

Look for deals on IAS rings, those can be quite cheap and it's a huge dmg boost. Besides weapon and source all my gear was below 2m. The rings were less than 500k. Everything could be bought cheap if you spend time looking for it. My gloves were 50k and I've been trying to upgrade them for weeks and can't find anything below 2m.

Tal Armors are nice and cheap. Armor, res all, attack speed and magic find. 4 great base stats. I paid mine 500k. Sage's boots are cheap also, you probably could upgrade your boots for a few 100k.

If you upgrade your weapon go for something at 1.4 attack speed or more ( sword or wand). DPS is calculated with the attack speed on the weapon display but your source dmg would benefit from speed also. It also adds to "responsiveness" and it helps a lot when kiting.

Life regen is pretty nice for a kiting build too. At 1000 life regen it's like a free potion every 12 seconds. It allows me to stop moving and shoot missiles because I know that even though my health goes down to 30% it will get back by the time I move to the next room. Life regen is also pretty cheap, sometime being a free affix.

Thanks! I was hoping to buy a 1H usable by both my barb and wiz so I could swap out, but I got a great deal on a mighty weapon. A 804.7 DPS with 83 Vit, 88 CD, and OS for 1.9M! I'm probably going to be farming with the barb for awhile to get enough cash to upgrade the Wiz, so she gets use of the 90 crit gem for the moment. But your suggestions are definitely useful and appreciated!
