Just wondering...Seems like it has really hit the brakes lately.
Well to be honest I never went above Israel's minimum pay by sheer farming even if I would sell everything and invest nothing back into my character. Now if I farm seriously with my OP critical mass wizard teaming with another OP sprint barb we might just break minimum. Basically not worth the time if it's not uber fun, and to be honest it started to get boring that I would only really do it if I have absolutely nothing else to do.
As for playing the AH, sky is the limit, but much luck and knowledge is needed, that the average profit/hour might still not be all that high for most.
Making money, however, assuming you don't care how little it is, is quite easy.
well its not the first two weeks anymore where its easy to make 1k+ a week and competition has destroyed many formerly profitable things but yes there is still money to be made.
I haven't made an RMAH sale since mid July :/
I'm not really posting much, but that's mainly because I haven't found anything good from what little farming I have done.
The challenges to making money feel very high at the moment. I feel it's a reflection of the dwindling and disinterested player base.
I've made a few insignificant rmah sales but I agree - it all went downhill mid July, at least in the EU.
ya i hear the eu sucks. here in the shiny americas region players are happy to shell out $ still; i sell items from 5 to 25 regularly and higher every day or two.
to be honest if you`re not selling you need to evaluate what you`re putting up for sale (if you`re a trader) or the price you're asking.
Putting up.
I haven't been flipping, just usinf found gear that's barely ever worth 100k.
Are you predominantly flipping gear?
I should try that again...
i only played for 48h or so when the game launched, since then i've only traded. i occasionally jump into a game with a buddy but not for long. if you're playing to make $ you are better off finding gear you can sell than taking the rng drops and hoping they have value.
I've been looking to find newer and more lucrative markets lately, especially after reading the Reddit thread of the guy moving high end items for decent cash.
Pulling in around 50-150 daily still, but I would like to see more substantial gains.
I still make $1200/day playing diablo, or any game for that matter.
Caught your eye I imagine. The key is finding a job. One in a high specialization, narrow niche field that offers lots of idle time throughout the workday. Oilfield consultation works for me, on location 24/7 for 20+ days/month. Allows for 4-12 hrs/day of playtime.
Some thoughts for those funneling a lot of money through paypal. We used to move large sums of money in and out of the paypal money market when it payed 4-5%. Those gravy days are gone, and were taxably harmless outside of the interest earned. We also used to sell fossils, minerals and coins on ebay. Paypal will send you a 1099 if your gross payment volume exceeds $10k or if you have 200 transaction payments for goods and services in a single year. Their assumed cost basis is zero, and the burden of proof falls to you to if it is otherwise. Keep good track of the provenance of your items. If you found an item, essentially bringing new wealth into the economy (akin to walking over a gold nugget), you will owe short-term capital gains on the full amount (less operating expenses). If its purchased and flipped, make sure you have the records of purchase prices. Also if you expect to pay taxes in excess of $1000 for the year on your transaction income, the IRS will whack you for penalties and interest if you don't pay quarterly estimated taxes on this income.
tl&dr get a job
