D2's prime being before Enigma(and other powerful RW) and synergies is total bull****. I am sure that I am not alone thinking the later patches made the game better. As far as PVP, I have no plans to do it. But, if it brings more people to the game, Blizz might be more active in its roll to keep things tuned up. I really hope they don't nerf the hell out of everything in the name of balance.
Meh, personal attacks from a faceless person. Never said I did want dueling. We are not going to have 1vs1 so what use is it? Even in group battles it will be 4??...when there are 5 classes? There is a vast difference in PVP arena and duels. LRN2thinkbeforeyouspeak.
I was not the one who started this post and said that rankings, etc needed to occur. But, I can see Azzure's point. The vast majority of people would support a ranking system of some kind or an in game reward. I just think Blizz is going to fall short.
To both of you PVP studs: When the time comes I will be happy to face either of you in any setting Blizzard makes with any one of my classes and duel. But I think we need to make a wager of some kind. Some IGG or something to make it worth my time. Hell, you can even pick which character you want to duel.

Go figure I don't remember you either. But, then again there were lots of Blizz/Orb Sorcs, Smiters, and SS wielding Barbs out there wasn't there. Or were you a GA Zon? Seriously, pvp in D2 was pretty easy. Although I could not beat this one Pally to save my life with Charge on my cold sorc.

That depends. One is more fun, but is also more logistically difficult to set up. Often, I just want to go and get a great workout when I want to without having to wait for my workout buddy to get his act together. After all, why else are people tolerating single player farming runs in Diablo 3? Now that's something I wouldn't do!
I actually invented and played a Jav barb. There's a guide on here in the Strategy Compendium if it's still accessible. And, you're right, there were plenty of run-of-the-mill cookie cutters. Odd for a "meaningless" phenomenon...
I think gaming has evolved so much in the last 10 years that one expects a system like PvP to be more than just the act of killing other players, and offer a lot more than the previous game. I think saying "Well D2 didn't have real PvP so a crappy D3 PvP system is ok" is an invalid argument to make, because at the time that was what PvP primarily was, and it offered us what we wanted at the time.
We expect more now, and a lot of us feel like we are not getting a successor in this but rather a step backwards.
