Meh... the items need fixing, but my real gripe is that with a relatively geared up wizard and a lot of playing time I'm still getting my a$$ handed to me in Act 2-onward in Inferno. No amount of farming will get me (in the current decade) the items needed to survive for more than 5 minutes at a time.
In 8 years of playing D2, I didnt find much that I could use either -- always ended up trading for it.
D2 made it a bit too easy to be godly, but D3 never seems to let you get there (unless you can buy your way there at 20,000 gold per slot, which is more gold than I've found/earned on AH over 250 hours of playing.
I love NV it makes the game sustainably entertaining for me!
More Yellows popping up crap or not get me all giddy and excited! (Though mostly Crap)
I did find my first set item with NV on Natalya's Boots so can't really knock it.
I can see how a casual player though would be too frustrated to play.
Sometimes one quest of an entire Act that would typically take maybe 5 mins at the most in norm can take up to an hour. (At least in my experience)
I do end up staring at the clock like oh **** I can't keep playing for another hour!
Did D2 really have an end game when it was released?
Not really...I mean yeah Act 4 D's dead gg but it was still replayable.
When LoD came out though it brought me back for the long haul and the end game wasn't till what 1.15 or whatever it is now?
I think patience is key here and I am hoping that Blizz will take a few lessons from the short comings of the current Diablo 3 release.
But really the only reason I'm posting here is a question,
Porkchop, why do you have Nietzsche as your avatar? lol
Wow I did some rough calculation, but if we consider 250K gold/hour good & consider buying all items (as nightmare heart won't drop items) - D3 takes over 100 times the time of farming before receiving top tier items for all classes.
I only brought up gold find runs because jonw stated that it would cost himto upgrade his items. 20k is significantly less than 250k, so he could upgrade quite a few item slots within a matter of hours. It is what I did until I had gear that allowed me to farm Act 1 Inferno, and then I started farming there and have sold several items for gold and money. I was merely trying to offer practical advice that I myself used to be able to complete and farm Inferno. I am not suggesting that one only do gold find runs, but as jonw stated that he has found/made very little gold, I brought forth a way to make guaranteed gold. If you do not like said advice, you may ignore it as you wish.20,000 gold per slot
