Arcane dynamo + Hydra

Does stacking up 5 flashes of insight with Arcane Dynamo then increase a subsequent Venom Hydra's damage by 75%?

Sorry if this has been covered here, did a search and couldn't find a topic on this. Also, the official forums are chalk full of this question, but each post contradicts the next ...

Arcane Dynamo will not boost the damage of Venom Hydra. Venom Hydra will consume the Flashes of Insight, but gain no boost.

Thanks for the reply about the hydra. I think this fact should be included in the tooltip, and indeed if ArcDyn doesn't work with other spells, there should be some explanation of that when choosing this passive, as it can be quite mis-leading.
