As a rather squishy class, being able to get away from fast monsters that have +fast is, neat.
Is it me or is there no appreciatable difference between 25 and 18 MS? Even with TA and lots of vaulting, I do find that 12 MS is a little slow.
Seems like a substantial difference to me /shrug. When I upgraded from an inquisitor to nats shadow, I definitely found myself missing the speed and picked up a unity to make up the difference.
The difference between 18% MS and 25% MS is noticeable. You will outrun certain monsters that you didn't outrun before, and those that do outrun you will not overtake you quite as quickly, giving you more time to develop a plan and activate the right discipline spenders. In terms of pure travel time, you travel about 6% faster than before the upgrade; it's less likely you'll notice this.
The difference between 78% MS (18 + TA) and 85% MS (25 + TA) is virtually unnoticeable. You go from outrunning everything that isn't insane (fast monsters with Fast affix) to... outrunning the exact same things. In terms of pure travel time, you travel about 4% faster than before the upgrade, which is very hard to notice.
If you are going TA, you shouldn't worry too much about maxing MS on gear. If you don't use TA, you probably should max MS on gear up to the 25% cap.
While you are moving faster at 25% MS, it doesn't feel as if you are moving fast at all.
Once you get used to a certain level of movement speed it seems normal, but try swapping to a character with no MS boost and you will immediately notice a difference. My wizard was scooting around at 18% MS and after awhile I didn't even notice the speed increase, but the second I swapped to my monk with 0% MS I felt like he was moving through mud.
