Secret to doing a lot of pushups is to not try to max everytime, but rather do small sets of 10-20 many times throughout the day.
Anyone can do 80 pushups in a row if they do three sets of 20 pushups in the morning, three sets of 20 at night, five days a week for 60 days straight.
What happens when you can't even do 1 pushup?
Like everyone else, you're doing them wrong. By going three times faster than what's proper, you're only cheating yourself out of a much better work out. Please review this guru's instructions:
You die a slow and degrading death in an institution you won't like. Sorry dude. Better get started right away.
That "guru" looks like he was mutated from a space alien. Why do men think the ideal man is a big hulking mass of creatine & roids?
He's in his 50's.
After 20 something years of working out, I very much doubt Scooby has ever seen steroids in his life. If he did, he would be MASSIVE.

I completely agree with this; I used to be able to do a solid 75 in a row no problem. I wasn't even working out that hard, although I did have to build up to that point by making pushups a part of my exercise. I'm sure I could get back there if I tried.
And I really should! Thanks for the encouragement. I'll certainly have the time for it, since I quit D3 a week ago, and am taking a leave of absence from videogames overall.
