YikeS how much more do i need

well i'm in act 2 inferno and getting my butt destroyed and it seems like everyone else is dying as well.
I have over 900 resists, 1021 LOH, 11% crit, 23k life, 11k damage,
i use the basic setup of thunderclap, serenity, sweeping wind, etc,,,,,,, all the things they say in the guides are the way to go, but i'm getting destroyed.
I know my damage is a little low but my weapons are an average of 650 to 750 , attack speek of 1.50,,, so what am i doing wrong. I maybe could get more dex at the expense of lowering my resists and Loh,which i loathe to do.
Any suggestions?

First of all, you dont need 900 res in a2. And if you play with SW - Cyclone you need high crit chance.

I suggest you do this:
Drop you res to ~400, its enough
Get higher crit chance, aim at 25%+
Get your life to ~30k

Try to get damage around 15k buffed.

I can clear Act 3 with a non-crit build with 22k life, 820 resists, 7.5k armor without enchantress, 21k buffed damage, 26% block, 50% dodge, 1.61 attack speed, 700 life regen, 700 life on hit.

Maybe it could be your play style? Try this:

Thunderclap, Keen Eye (yes, two generators), Serenity, Breath of Heaven, Blade Storm, Mantra of Evasion - Hard Target
Trans./Seize/OWE

Use Keen Eye with Shift to stand still and kite tougher enemies that way. I personally use Foresight because I don't need the bonus armor from Keen Eye.

Absolutely disagree. I've been farming act 2 for a couple days now, and its NO way that 400 allres is enough. Well maybe if your other stats are very very high. On crit chance, its not solving anything by itself, maybe just crit damage is too low and you can use sw - bladestorm if you can't afford 20%+ crit chance. You can also up your attack speed to get more dps AND get a better heal on life on hit.

My suggestions: 600 allres, 5k+ armor, 15k+ dps, 30k+ life. Get 2 weapons with 1.4 aps (sword or fist) to get a better use of LOH.

No its the opposite, crit chance solves a lot with that build. If you play whit Sweeping Wind - Cyclone you most have crit chance, otherwise its useless. If not playing with it, fine, then crit chance is not a priority.

my experience is totally different. I don't know how was act 2 weeks ago, but recent days when I go with 44k health, 750 allres, 6,4 K armor 19,8k dps and 760 LOH there are still some packs that make me pay some extra repair cost, and those stats are much higher then what you recommended.

thanks for the suggestions.
My armor is 4.9k maybe on the low side, and i'll try switching out sweeping wind rune being that my crit chance is low.
I will keep the resists high though, because it seems i can stand toe to toe much better than when i was at 400 or 500, and i'm only in act 2.
I do plan to try some other options, but life on hit is important that i have over 1k and it keeps me alive when alot of barbs i see are croaking.

How do you use your skills?
Are you a button smasher, or do you time your cool downs?

^with that info I could give you a great answer on what to keep doing and what to change...

I used Thunderclap for a long time because it is a really fun skill and a great generator, but I found it got me killed way too often and did not do enough aoe.
For amazing mitigation try DR with the defense rune and Crippliing Wave with Concussion. Alternating each every 3 seconds and combine with Resolve results in about 70% mitigation (+50%def -20% attack speed +20%DR +25%DR). Your 23k life will feel like 76k life. That got me to Act3 with very cheap gear, and you can facetank Belial.
With having to kite in Act 3 I got annoyed with not having enough spirit or LOH or not being able to engage sweeping wind before every melee, especially against Shielded.
So I moved away from LOH and got 3.5 spirit per second and extra 25 LPSS. And now I use the DR damage booster rune, and Concussion Mangle rune. Buffed 30k dps and constantly spammed Overawe gives effective 44k dps. With 143 damage from Mangle and 60 damage from Sweeping Wind you can kill very quickly. 80% crit damage, 17% crit chance, I sometimes see 75k crit hits.

I don't use OWE but with 400 resists I can still facetank most elite packs in Act2. Last night killed a triple pack with a bit of kiting. I haven't encountered anything in Act2 I couldn't kill.
