Go into the Auction house, In the upper left hand cornor un-select your character and select the gernaric selection for your charecter class. On the lower left select the drop down for the filter selections, scroll alllll the way to the bottom and select "Reduced Level Requirement". Next to it type "18" and hit search. 18 is the max possiable for level reduction. If you're lucky you can find a ilvl 62 or 63 1 hand weapon that you can use at lvl 42...
You must not only be lucky, you must also be (very) rich ; be ready to spend millions of gold !
And, imho, people that rich, usualy don't have problems at lvl 40+.
I bought ilvl60+ one-handers with 500-700 DPS, reduced level reqs and 500+ LoH for maybe 200k, that's enough for all of hell mode and even act 1 inferno. From late act 3 on, you might need a bit allres, let's say 40 per item, together with 50+ vit and main stat. I paid about 500k for the whole (plus the mentioned 200k for the weapon). If you sell all useless magical and rare items instead of wasting resources for crafting at that point, you will have enough gold for that.

You know I'm born to lose / and gambling is for fools / but that's the way I like it, baby / I don't want to live forever!
That's what I was getting at, you can find a few that are just blue ilvl 62 or 63 with 500-700 DPS for ≥ 500K.
I picked up a 442 dps sword tonight with 120 intelligence for my wizard for 100k using this method, only need to jump 6 levels though as I was 54. Helped a ton. I caved to the AH for weapon and boots.....doh.
This method is no longer required since patch 1.04. There's a lot more reduced requirement weapons available too since crafting got it's buff.
Shopping is always a chore but some like it.
Frankly I buy/trade/ or much too often get free gifts (I have a lot of friends and it's nice) in games.
But when I was shopping claws in the day man was I addicted.
It's like how lucky are you...
As some of you know they changed some stuff to the daily lvl 42-45 rewards. 1 socket weapons are now 40 stones, etc. and they added some new stuff which is actually pretty good... Here's a link describing all the lvl 42-45 quests in which you can get stones and links to "guides" on high-level daily dungeons.
