Hi there,
I just bought a diablo 3 copy for my brother (playing alone gets boring ;P) - however he plays on my parent's pc and hence isn't an admin account. Now my parents don't mind installing it so he can play, but they do not wish to give my brother administrator privileges.
But it seems that even without updates it seems diablo 3 requires an admin to log in the first time it is launched during a windows session. (using windows 7 btw).
How can I solve this? How can I make sure each and every account has rights to use diablo 3?
Can you check the file permissions in the Diablo III folder and the C:/Users/<Username>/Documents/Diablo III/ folder ? Allow everyone access. Is it the only game he can't launch ?
Well there are no other games - though programs like word & adobe photoshop don't have the trouble?
The account is a guest account btw, so shoudl I look for C:/users/guest/documents/diablo III/ ? - or the admin folder?
On a side note: this isn't in the system requirements - yet a blizzard official says they can't provide support unless I'm admin. - Well this is just ridiculous: how could I know that before buying it? How can I get my money back, blizzard just cheated me now.
Their official response is rather unfortunate, but there is surely a way to fix this. Have you tried right clicking on the Diablo III executable and select Run as... then select the Guest account ?
