1. Guild Wars 2 Beta Weekend =) obvious decline in buyers. When GW2 releases, whether you like it or not (I for one don't), it will crush Diablo 3. You can argue that they are two different genres, but the majority of D3 players will give it a try if they didn't already.
2. Motivation for buying has dropped significantly =) Diablo 3 is boring, repetitive, items and sets suck
3. D3s' player-count is dropping really fast =) Players are not compelled to play anymore due to (2), hacks, scams, the fact that D3 is utter trash etc. I have it from reliable sources that almost 60% of the initial player-base has quit, there has been a huge decline in demand of this game. This is not a hard thing to notice, for example retailers in my country sell the remaining stock for as low as 25 euros.
4. Gold selling/buying has ruined the RMAH for good. As it was not bad enough before, now the RMAH hardly sells anything. This is one of the delayed effects of the gold market.
Now days I can hardly sell anything anymore on RMAH but I sell some stuff on the GAH. First 2-3 weeks of RMAH was good but then it got overflooded with tons and tons of 1.25 items even for pretty good rolls so hard to sell now.
I've stopped trying to sell on the GAH. No one interested it seems, prices for decent gear only 2x-3x vendor sell price are readily available if you look hard enough. Too many people selling, almost no one buying. Never tried the RMAH and probably will not. Hoping the 1.04 patch is worth the wait.
A mixed bag of success then. It seems some of you guys had better luck a few weeks ago but things are slowing down now and the RMAH is pretty stagnant.
Thanks for the feedback guys.
I am a long time seller on AH, I have been selling on EU AH in terms of tens million gold/day. However selling really got slowed down. Some factors have been quoted here, some we may not know yet but the fact is I dropped prices of my items nearly by 66% and they are still not selling, I am starting to think that the price is not so big factor here(well obviously it is, but I think you know what I mean) Its more about players demand right now, and that is really, really low now...
Well, I have had a mixed bag of items sell on both GAH and RMAH. I tend to wait to sell higher end items just because I like to have to big hits. The small 1.25 items on RMAH are nice to sell, but every now and then I hit a big sale there. I am seeing a slowing on AH activity, but mostly due to market saturation.
On A side note, I put up my first huge auction on the GAH to see how it goes. The most I have sold items for on the GAH is ~10 Mil. This one is several hundred million. So we will see if I get any bites.
^^ Agreed. It's not so much about pricing as it is low demand. The items that end up selling usually get bought not because they are incredible bargains but because they are what someone needs right now and not overpriced.
