@ScottieK: Thank you for the build, it works really really well for me. Of course i died some time today, but it was FUN, FUN, FUN and lacking FUN this was reason not to play Diablo3 for some time. Several WW-Tornado Builds never worked for me, but this one did instantly. Just Great!
Is your furious charge ever on cooldown for longer than a second or two (and if then, very often?) If so you might not be charging correctly. Remember you are supposed to charge through every unit, and if you hit one of them and get stuck, then you will likely die.
So remember you need to hold your shift key when charging (which I recommend everyone changing to "~", the letter to the left of "1", then making 3 and 4 mousewheel down/up), otherwise you won't go through units, you will hit them and get stuck, which usually means the cooldown doesn't instantly refresh, and you can't make tornado's to heal/do damage if you aren't moving.
Also MF switching is (in my opinion) better for farming; wear your good gear, get a pack down to last pack member and just above what you know a frenzy crit hit will be (so you don't accidentally kill), then run and change your gear.
Careful with tornado's though, if you aren't careful they can finish the pack before you can fully change.
Then finish off the pack member with a sprinted tornado, and just kite them through the tornado's you make and it will die in a few seconds (if not instantly).
I really recommend getting used to item switching. Arrange your items in a way that makes it easy for you, click the furthest corner of your screen, then open your inventory, click click click while running away. Once you get practised at it (which doesnt take long) it takes about 5-10 seconds, and is really worth it.
Wow, thanks for the build Scottie. I'll be sure to try it out!
Well, I've read the guide a few times, now I will have to give it a shot to try something different from by frenzy/revenge build. The charge cooldown from the tornados sounds kind of interesting- it sounds a bit unintended so it might be changed in the future (so if it still works I think I'll need to make the most out of it).
I'm not quite sure I understand how overpower lets AoE damage heal you though- is it just the LoH proc'ing from the initial impact or is there something else I'm missing?
Every crit you land after you overpower can lower its cooldown. So you want a lot of hits/crits to get your overpower ready just in a few seconds.
Overpower (Crushing Advance) has a proc coefficient of ~33%. So every time it deals damage, you gain 33% of your Life on Hit value per monster hit. The secondary effect is that it provides 30% DR and reflects that 30% of damage you take back to your enemies procing 33% of your Life on Hit (and proccing your 3 fury/hit 33% of the time if you use a mighty weapon). When you're getting hit by a DoT, you're getting many many small ticks of damage, each one procing 33% of your life on hit. With my ~950 life per hit, ~6.5k armor, ~900 all res, and the 30% extra DR, I gain life every time I pass through a desecrate zone, plague pool, the trail of a molten elite, Ghom's, er, "smog" clouds, and electrified bolts. Fire chains don't do any net damage in A1/2, and do very little in A3.
Ok, I didn't realize redirect actually means that it also reflects damage, and that reflected damage can proc LoH. That seems much more powerful than I had though. Interesting.
I have come back to this Charge/tornado build. I truly believe that this is the best build for a barb.
i know that the WW/tornado builds are all the rage right now, but after playing it for a week in act 3/4, i can tell you straight up that it is far from OP'ed. This is the reason Blizzard did not nerf the WW/nado builds...it has many holes and you WILL die against certain elite afixes. The biggest headache for me with the WW builds was the lack of Overpower\crushing advance...suddenly, poison and fire were a headache. I tried adding Overpower in place of a primary fury generator and played around with the build to mimic the popular "Dino" WW/Nado build, but i just didn't like it without a primary fury generator
The other headache with the WW build was the high crit requirement. I modified my gear to have 43% crit, but at a loss of armor, loh, str and vit.
I'm back to my most optimal gear now. Crit% has dropped to 28% but i'm rocking this charge\nado build with dual wield, 11.4k armor buffed, 31k base dps and 1600 loh. I did a siegebreaker run yesterday and did not die once...so, i reiterate, i think the charge\nado build is the most optimal build in this game for a barb (at least for me)

This all depends on your gear level. WW/sprint is by far the strongest build if you have good enough gear. If you aren't rich, it isn't so great, and the one from this thread can often feel stronger. Just don't confuse strong at a particular gear level with strong period.
You really need a mighty weapon to use overpower in a ww/sprint build, otherwise the fury situation is a huge headache.
At your gear level, I don't doubt it. Just understand that there is a gear level where ww/sprint starts to take over. IME that's around the 10-20 mil range for total gear value (depending how much bargain shopping you do vs just buying out stuff).so, i reiterate, i think the charge\nado build is the most optimal build in this game for a barb (at least for me)
well...you are free to critique my gear. This is what i went with last night and i owned act 3 with a charge/nado strategy. I don't have anything overly "godly", but it still adds up to 11.5k armor buffed and 31K+ base dps. My resists can be better but my armor makes up for it

I've got bids on a few rings and amulets...hoping to take my DPS up to 50k without losing any of my other stats. The 3 socketed chests that i want and 2 socketed pants that would benefit me are just too expensive right now so i'm keeping my eyes peeled. i don't mind paying 10-20 million for an awesome item but once the asking price is 100+ million, it is out of reach for me
